    If the people stopped concreting their drive ways then the water would soak in the grass with drainage and the council should be maintaining the drains with the a gully sucker but they can't be bothered when the leaves blocks the drains

      Dredging the rivers is part of the problem. The water runs off too fast and tends to only slow down once it hits a flat bit. Where towns and cities tend to be built. TBF they’ve been spending billions trying to fix water ways but when it rains. . . . . .

      @olwens1368 7 місяців тому +2

      I would certainly move the most important things, but in modern life there are a lot of things that can't be quickly and easily unplugged, disconnected and carried around. When this happened to my grandparents back in the early 1960s (yes, even then !) they knew what their important things were- famly papers, a couple of pictures and small ornaments that had sentimental value, family photos- all easy to rescue quickly, even for peope in their 70s. The furniture was big and old and survived unscathed, the floors were stone and covered with rugs which were lost but fairly easy to replace, and after about a week life resumed as normal. We just have so much more stuff these days.

    This is what happens when people keep putting more concrete everywhere..and building on known flood plains and vales… they are called vales for a reason . The rain has to go somewhere..astroturf lawns add to the problem too..what happened to digging / clearing drainage ditches into fields…instead of putting granite edging on roads that used to never flood… this is happening in Buckinghamshire where I’v been mostly for over 7O years. We never even got flooding when over a meter of snow melted! Now we’ve got the added problem of an unnecessary railway being built too…and areas flooding, as they fill the hills with more concrete.
    There has to be more sensible planning for housing somehow.. 🤷‍♀️

    Our planet is dying. Each of us will see the entire force of natural disasters from the end of 2024 onwards. This is not due to human activity, but occurs cyclically every 12,000 years on all planets of the solar system.
    To save ourselves and the planet, it's vital to build the *Creative* *Society,* where the life, safety and well-being of every person will be the main priorities. Creative Society is a peaceful world without conflicts, poverty, inflation, crises, where we can solve all problems with natural disasters.
    All details were voiced on December 2, at the *"Global* *Crisis.* *The* *Responsibility"* (international online forum).
