Kenneth D King is one of my favorite guests on this podcast. His information is always on point. Some of the points he made on this episode were so helpful as I have taken a few Zoom classes with him and it really reinforced the training I took.
OMG OMG OMG! I just love Kenneth D King, and I feel so validated by his comments on hand sewing certain steps and details. I have come full circle on so many construction methods, because I have found that hand sewing is often quicker and yields more professional results than purportedly “quick” or “easy” techniques. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Kenneth is always so informative.
Thanks sooo much for this video! Kenneth D King is awesome, I could listen to him all day!❤️❤️❤️
Great tip for ironing the thread for hand sewing. Thank you!
Polyester thread is indeed forever but I avoid it with fragile fabrics like fine cotton or silk, at least on the side seams and armholes, where a more fragile thread is an advantage. If the garment comes under strain, it is better if the threads tear first. If the threads hold, it is the fabric that gives way, and the damage can't be fixed. But if the threads give way, mending the garment is just a matter of resewing the seam.
I so appreciate the demonstration of the Adele jacket. I have a jacket that needs new lining and now I can approach it!
Sounds like an awesome course!
I agree, sounds a terrific course!
