On the Scene: "Into the Woods" Opening Night

- Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's "Into the Woods" is being revived in the closest Manhattan has to woods: Central Park. Hear from the all-star cast on their opening night about this magical revival playing through September 1.
I love that people who have played Disney characters are in this (Amy Adams and Donna Murphy, obviously). Just happens to make this even better than it already is!
My little brother said when we saw "Tangled" that Mother Gothel reminded him of the "Into the Woods" witch. Well now she's both, at the same time! :)
The fact that Laura Benanti played Cinderella when she was 22 astonishes me, although it shouldn't because she is that amazing. She would make a great Baker's Wife.

I saw this thursday the 30th an it was my first into the woods experience so i dont know how different it was but it was still wonderful! Amy Adams was great and so was the rest of the cast im just still obsessing over how great it all was and how much of a fantastic experience it was for free as well, simply magical i guess

I saw the original Cinderella playing the Bakers wife she was so good!!!!
we did this production on an outdoor stage as well and there were raccoons and what not on stage and in the wood work. it was hilarious!

Not trying to hate, but I'm a traditionalist and I love the original version of this. So this new "little boys nightmare" thing really upsets me. The outdoor theatre is clever, I wish they'd just kept the musical the same.
