Just so you know, the chances of catching a musky on a dead bait is very low because musky are 100% predator, they like a fresh kill, but pikes are more opportunistic.

Basically rig your dead bait with a slight curve to it and retrieve it like a slow lure. This can be done under a "bobber" big enough to support the bait. It is my go-to pike fishing method. Good luck for your musky quest.

If you live in the Minnesota/Wisconsin area your odds are super high for landing one within in a year. I used to live in Madison Wisconsin and you could catch musky with bladed bass jigs and steel leaders. Just got to be at the right moment at the right time and have some spots that most people don’t know about, keep it up and you will land one

@@comedyhub8772 For wingra, use a steel leader on 30 pound braid, and clip a big bladed jig, big spinnerbait, or a big softplastic swimbait, The musky on that lake will hammer almost anything. Last fall the lake was to weedy to fish so Id recommend going in the spring.
I was walking over an old railroad Tressel as a kid that spanned a gorge in Cady-Ville NY, when i looked down into the gorge into the river below i saw 2 of the biggest muskies's ive ever seen swimming side by side. doing a quick glance at the nearby tree's laying in the river i could easily tell the bigger of the 2 had to have been at a minimum of 5ft long. it was almost as big as i was as a and i must've been 9 years old.
Monster Pike but you gotta throw something with some action to bag a big Muskie. One of the most exciting things I've ever done fishing is seeing a monster follow a big swim bait back to the boat and doing a figure 8 watching him miss it a cpl times before exploding on that bait right in front of me.

Thats a decent pike, but as a european i'm used to see (and sometimes catch) way bigger pike. My biggest one is 131cm / ~51inches from Sweden.
