Smart call taking it home. Your hot laps reminded me when Robert Duvall told Tom Cruise," just go through the smoke, you'll be ok" it's the beginning of your season so better to get these glitches out of the way now.
Awesome you guys came down, that day the track was having water truck problems that’s why it was dusty it’s not usually that dusty. Hope to see ya again!
We don’t got the latest and greatest, and we’re not the most knowledgeable, but hopefully we put a few smiles on faces and give back. Appreciate the support!
@@HutiraMotorsports I've shared u with my friends over here in UK. Great to see u try. it's not all about what u have its what ya do with it and from here ya doing great 👍
Belts, uugh. If you haven't found anything else, check that the pulleys are dead in line with each other and square to each other. If they're running with one in front of / behind the other or not square to one another it'll spit belts at high RPM. Been there, done that. Took making a couple custom shims to get it all lined up dead on. Once we got that sorted out the only time a belt came off was when we ran over a piece of debris and it got kicked up but that also took out the radiator and fan. Poor belt didn't stand a chance that night.
Yikes that does not sound fun. We ended up finding some misalignment and possibly a bearing going bad in the water pump. Replaced pump, pulleys, belts, and reshimmed. Seemed to work well this past weekend.
@@HutiraMotorsports Great, glad to hear you got it sorted. Chasing gremlins sucks. Makes it hard to concentrate on the actual racing when it's always in the back of your mind if the belts gonna come off, etc.
Good decision, get it straighten out so you can go fast next week. Good luck on fixing. Enjoyed watching. As somebody used to say Asphalt is for getting you there, dirt is for racing.
We are considering the ELM race as well as racing the weekend of the Pittsburgher. June 11th is also a possibility as we are off at Latrobe that weekend but there is a series race at hummingbird that week. Of course, if we rain out at Latrobe for a weekly show, there’s a possibility of us making the trip. As always, watch our Facebook for weekend plans!
@@HutiraMotorsports I found them and read it . the rules mechanically are pretty open for motor and trans. Seems a little vague not very detailed !! The hi gear trans with a reverser the modifieds use aren't cheap but they take minimum horsepower to turn and are quite efficient !! The engine confuses me ?? No cubic inch limit no limit on crank or rod type or materials a roller cam system no piston type or dome or compression restrictions ?? Can you use MSD boxes and similar ignition systems crank trigger distributors any CFM carb !! Any limitations on beadwork valve size valve type pocket porting and runner polishing or work on the intake match porting flowing of carbs !!!!!!! That can't be it or you would 30,000 $ plus on a motor alone !!!!!!! Dazed and confused !! Can you give me any clarification ???
@@circletrack7538 we run Bert trannys. Most guys run either berts or brinns. Open engine rules essentially - steel block, steel head, one carburetor. That’s it. It’s the wild Wild West out here. You make it as big and bad as you want. There’s guys running 604 crate engines, some with old 358 nascar/arca stuff, some with 434 pushing big numbers, and others with home built junk yard engines. It’s what makes this class great is that you can use whatever you can get your hands on. Same with tire rules, any compound any manufacturer - open tire rule as long as it goes on a 15x10 steel wheel, 8” gets a weight break. Essentially our rules are what’s listed above, plus stock front clip, 105” wheelbase, 2900 lbs total weight after race, non adjustable shocks, and no quick changes
@@HutiraMotorsports WOW that's crazy especially in a crazy economy !!! So somebody with more money just out powers you !!! What's your motor setup ?? You could run a small block modified and it still be cheaper !!!! That also doesn't help with car counts either !!! That's why some cheaper classes are excelling in car counts !!! That sort of blows me away !!! That means you could run an 1150 dominator if you wanted !!! The big block guys tried that and went backwards !!! They either were setup wrong or burned up tires ! That's a drag strip carb ! Peddle down from start to finish !! Progressive secondaries work the best with 750s to 850s depending on c.i. and compression !! I have a close friend I went to school with that owns a racing carb. shop for all applications !!! Shops called Avanti performance in Dublin pa. He's really good !!! Parts are expensive enough without adding technical machining !!! What kind of rear ?? Has to make gear changes more difficult !! Now I understand difficulties with tire wear !!! A crate sportsman is less then 6 grand and a competitive chassis from 3 to 5 these days ! A lot of guys selling out cheap !!!
Now you got to see what we see from the infield of latrobe. Fire department gets the best view. Love watching it from in there
It’s the best view at Latrobe, worst down there. Can’t see over all the big toterhome haulers

That’s right, I remind people of that all the time when they ask if we race asphalt haha! Think we got to the bottom of the problem this week 🤞
I can't imagine what you spend on travel race fuel and tires alone !!! I believe with a better economy you'd have better car counts too !!!
are you going back to PPMS this year? would come to see you race.

What exactly is the title of your class and where can I find the detailed rules of the car !! Specific rules, what a time consuming pain !!!!!
Penn Ohio Pro Stocks. They have a website that details the rules. I’ll see if I can find you a link.
