  • Short video from some of the crafts at Strømsør Mountain Farm in Bardu, Troms, Norway.
    This is a small part of a big restauration project funded by Troms og Finnmark Fylkeskommune.
    The workers are skilled craftsmen hired by Midt Troms Museum who also owns the buildings.
    Here we are hewing and cutting down the cladding with axe and framesaw, following the heartwood of the pine. Planks are sawn 1inch at Aursfjordsaga waterpowered sawmill a few months before.
    Floor is also beeing laid down in a section of the barn. 2 inch pine, sides scribed/lined and hewn to fit together.
