Awesome! I just bought one of the two PCNC1100s from our local MakerSpace. Literally moved it into my own studio yesterday. Power drawbar arrives tomorrow. With this Path Pilot update, I'll definitely be using the portrait mode layout.
@tormach Question, does portrait mode only become available if the monitor is 1920x1080? On the 4:3 monitor of my machine, the only option shown currently is landscape.
@tormach i plugged a 1920x1080 touchscreen in, oriented in portrait mode. The only problem is that touch is still behaving like the screen isn’t rotated. Ie, touches are appearing at (y,x) rather than (x,y).

Sounds awesome! I'll go try it now. One coolant option that I miss from the gen1 mills is the on/auto/off toggle switch. I would like a way to toggle off all coolant, without the gcode being able to turn it back on. In the old mills, the "auto" button read the gcode, and the on/off turned it on or off regardless of what the gcode said. One note, in the video description there is a typo: "And as always, there are -->now
Can you add a PathPilot feature request for the coolant toggle switch at the link on the bottom of this page? tormach.com/pathpilot-cnc-controller We fixed the typo. Oops. We don't charge for any feature on PathPilot. Thanks.
Nice list of updates, will look forward to trying it out. One thing we wish PathPilot would do is disable the spindle with tool #99. Hope that can be implemented (if it hasn't been already).
Our Tech Support Team wanted to point out that if you want to add the functionality of the mist button you will have to follow the procedure in this document. Worth mentioning that your controller has to have 4gb of RAM for the camera to work. It didn't work with 1gb of RAM that my 1100 controller came with until I upgraded.
I know you don't care anymore about the lathe, but, it would be interesting to see some upgrades for it. It's always about the mill. What about a taper turning option for the lathe, canned cycle for drilling, possibility to import new tools, a DXF import. I have installed much bigger servo steppers, before an update, I was running the lathe at 200ipm, now I can't and don't know why.

Depending on which controller setup you purchase, some are 1920x1080 screens, some are 1024x768 touch screens. If you are using a monitor not supplied by Tormach, suggest you find a 16:9 wide screen 1920x1080 screen - or a touch screen. We can only test and support what we sell of course.
@@tormachinc I confirm that the touchscreen functionality on ASUS VT229H works well. However it only does the true 1920x1080 in the portrait mode. If you launch PP 2.10 in landscape mode it shows a low-resolution version of the interface horribly scaled up to 1920x1080. Is this going to be fixed in the upcoming release?
I have been using the ViewSonic TD2210 a 22” 1920x1080 resistive touchscreen monitor in portrait mode since the upgrade about a month ago. Other than a power plug adaptor it was plug-and-play. But, as the Tormach folks say, without their extensive system testing there are no guarantees.
Kudos on making this all work using GTK2, not for the faint of heart :-)

Sorted. On reboot the computer had me calibrate the touchscreen by touching 4 corners. Now it knows left/right vs up/down

Simply add this to the #99 tool description without the double quotes: "maxrpm:0"
@@AlexZonin Wow! I had no idea you could do that. Thanks!
@@AlexZonin Unfortunately, PathPilot doesn't allow editing the Probe's description: "Tool 99 description reserved for Probe" is the error.
@@catamounts i see. Then maybe the lock is already there. Try to leave the spindle empty, change to tool 99 and see if you can turn the spindle on.

Is it possible to stream video over the network for live remote viewing?
There has been talk about also adding remote viewing into the future version of PathPilot, but don't expect it until some time after 3.0 comes out.
This would be a sublime feature to see PLEASE. And I'm still just a Tormach 1100mx newbie. @@tormachinc
Please tell me that Tormach will also release a split coolant upgrade for Series 3 mills.
Sorry Bill, there are no plans to release a split coolant upgrade for the Series 3 mills. You may want to look into a third party solution.
Thanks for the response. I wish Tormach still developed for their legacy machines as well as the new one.

Which 1920x1080 touchscreen display model is supported? The one that Tormach sells is not 1920x1080.
In the past, some members of the Tormach Operators forum have recommended the ASUS VT229H, but we haven't tested it so we can't guarantee if it works.

Oops! I forgot to add that you need a DVI to HDMI adapter too.
All awesome. Cant wait to update. But MOV files, what are running here, Apple??? Ha ha
Is there any value in upgrading my 15L lathe or is this specific to the mill?
You can add cameras inside of your lathe, and you could rotate your monitor in the other direction if you want.
Just flip there camera in it's mount - won't b e upside down then
Yes, we make a note of that in the video with a text box at 5:51.
Can i upgrade but not use the portrait mode?
Yes, both portrait and landscape modes are available.
