Hands down the best video I’ve ever seen on how to get started with choosing a suitable trek in a particular country! Priceless information and so easy to follow! Truly great job, thank you so much!
I am amazed of your work put in this. This video along with the others you've made, provides good overview and information on how one to choose a trek.
Amazing video. Next year I am going back to Nepal for the first time in 12 years. Trying to decide where to go trekking and this is an incredibly informative overview. Thank you!
I have been leaning towards the Manaslu Circuit, but the Makalu Base Camp trek looks quite amazing! Previously I've just done Poon Hill (once) and Annapurna Base Camp (twice, but only made it all the way to ABC once).@@TheMenWhoStareAtMountains
Haha, I do indeed... one of my trekking porters used to call me Mr Dal Bhat ;) but I'm leaning Manaslu now after watching a great vid of it last night. What's your fave Nepal trek you have done?@@TheMenWhoStareAtMountains
I trekked from Jumla to Shey Phoksumdo on October 2019 and returned to Kathmandu by road all the way from Suligad, Dolpa. It's a bit of a hassle changing so many vehicles but it's doable, and, dare I say, enjoyable in many ways. It's possible to reach Tripurakot, Dolpa by road. There are buses that take this route: Nepalgung-Salyan-Jajarkot-Tripurakot. But you have to change around 6-7 vehicles because the jeeps cannot use suspension bridges - as a result, they are limited by river boundaries. From Tripurakot, Juphal and Dunai are only 30 and 60 minutes away, respectively, on a jeep.
@@TheMenWhoStareAtMountains Fortunately, I had saved the vehicle fares for the trip from Suligad (the entry point to Shey-Phoksundo National Park) to Nepalgunj on my phone. Here it is. (2019 October prices, they must have risen by now) Suligād to Tripurākot- Rs. 450 Tripurākot to Khadāng- Rs. 400 Khadāng to A- Rs. 200 A to Dāmchaur- Rs. 600 Dāmchaur to B- Rs. 200 B to Rādi- Rs. 400 Rādi to Nepalgunj- Rs. 900 I must not have remembered the names of two places - hence the reason why I used A and B for them. From Nepalgung, it's easy to get flight tickets to Kathmandu or travel on a bus/Toyota Hiace. The journey by road takes around 15 hours.
I am heading to Nepal in a couple of days for 3 months and I am absolutely overwhelmed by the amount of trekking possibilities! Where does one begin! I have nothing planned at the moment and am hoping to get some recommendations from other trekkers when I arrive in Kathmandu 🙏🏻🤞🏻
I'm envious Joe! I'd love to have 3 month in Nepal! :) In spring it's a great idea to go where the rhododendron forests are. The area between Pokhara and the Annapurnas is all white, pink and red in March and April.
Appreciated
Thanks 👍
By far the best video on getting started on the Nepal Treks. One hundred likes and subs if I could.
Thank you AT! Thant's very kind! :)

Havent done Makalu yet, but it's high on my list. Prepare for very basic lodges there. I hope you like Dhal Bhat! :)

My favourite treks so far were Manaslu for its diversity (similar to Annapurna Circuit but minus the road) and Gokyo for the mountain views.
time to save up HAHA so many thing to do!!! thanks for the comprehensive video
You're welcome! 😁
The best video. Thank you.
Great overview, I really like the fly-overs on the 3d map, how did you create those?
I used Google Earth Studio: earth.google.com/studio/ You have to apply for an account, but it's free.
@@TheMenWhoStareAtMountains thank you very much, and keep on trekking 👋
