Mini panel vans, Valiant utes, ladies carrying cane shopping baskets. Yes, as a kid who grew up in the 60s and 70s, those were the days. Thanks for making my day.
Looks like the car choices were Ford, Holden, Valiant, made in Australia or imports from England, Jaguar, Morris, and Volkswagen from Germany. The Japanese invasion was still a little way off.
When the Melbourne CBD was a pleasant and friendly place to be. Thanks for the memories 👍

Such an awesome time to be a kid.
@@Paige_Edgley@Paige.Edgley Yes, it was; I loved my early years growing up, but sadly, now I have no interest in ever returning to Victoria.
No motorcycle shops on Elizabeth St, a huge loss replaced by bubble tea shops.
In a time when road rage wasn't a thing. Everyone was just considerate and had manners including pedestrians were courteous to each other.
Nice to see the old half cab single deckers!
Everyone with there heads up looking around mostly smiling and not a pair of white earbuds in sight 😂great times as a kid 👍

We visited Melbourne from Sydney in 88 and thought that it was wonderful.

Look at the Holden taxis. 😮
They were great weren't they?. I really loved the old clickety meters they had inside these cabs.
