The nectarines smelled GREAT! Lol 😂
Christine, I recommend Dave trying organic rosehip seed oil on his psoriasis. Rosehip seed oil has anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and soothing properties to it. I use it on my face as skin care and it has really toned down the redness in my face, my skin looks completely different in the best way! After seeing the results from that, I've used it on my eczema spots and other irritated places on my skin, and the stuff is amazing to calm the itching, the redness, the dryness, everything! I got mine at Walmart, it's the brand Sky Organics, and it was in the same aisle as the lotions, by the Burt's Bees and Shea Moisture brands. Of course you could also find it online. 👍🙂
Thanks I have eczema, I will try
@@sandy_sd10 you're welcome! I definitely suggest getting the organic to make sure it hasn't been exposed to pesticides or anything that would irritate your skin. But I am honestly, thoroughly impressed and pleased with the results! I've only tried the Sky Organics brand, but can confirm, in my opinion, it's amazing!
Rosehips are rich in Vitamin C, so naturally, it should work (it's almost like a natural Vitamin C serum). Thank you for the tip!...
I am going to have to try that. My eczema is really bad, my fingers are a mess!
Try pavati!
It’s more skincare but it’s worked wonders on my skin!
You totally inspired me to get an air fryer! Can’t wait to get it and try some of your recipes. My sister and I have been doing low carb and this is going to give us a great option for our veggies. Love your channel 🥰
I use the coconut curls. I love it. Works well. Keeps curls in place and is NOT sticky. I love it. Thanks
I miss your clearance hauls from Smith's and its funny I would because I markdown stuff down for Kroger. But like my boss calls me I am cheapstake lol. I doing pricing for a living . I will not pay full price for anything
Thank you!!! I appreciate your work 😊
The third avacado jumped out of the cart when the candy bar jumped in! 😉
Lol
😄
Love your grocery hauls! I am often surprised by your egg and dairy prices! I live in a pretty cheap area of PA and 18 eggs is $2.25-$3 depending on where you go. I, too, end up with some random chocolate bars in my grocery cart without ever touching them. It's so odd how that always happens!
18 ct eggs at my Walmart in SW Missouri is $1. Across town it can be as high as $2 at a different Walmart. Not sure how that works.
Hi Christine! I adore your videos, you're such a light. We should all expect our groceries to be more expensive and lower quality in the upcoming months as our food system has been greatly disrupted due to COVID. It's a really interesting and heart breaking subject; if you aren't familiar yet, I recommend reading about the way COVID has impacted our farmer workers, truckers, and other food supply people. Looking forward to your next video!
Love these haul videos!!!
Love your videos. Can't wait for the next ones
If Dave doesn't like almond milk have him try oat milk. Oatly is my favorite brand. The consistency is similar to dairy milk.
Oat milk is also very easy (and super cheap) to make yourself.
I was going to recommend oat milk as well. Also nioxin is a game changer for psoriasis
Yes, I second this! I tried so many different variations of plant based milk and found that many were either not a good cross over flavour, meaning they didn't work well in hot beverages or changed the flavour in other cooking, but oat milk is a very neutral flavour and one that has a consistency closest to dairy milk, so is a good all round option. Good luck! :)
Also Oatly is amazing but also probably the most expensive brand, so keep an eye out for cheaper oat milk options if you have them over there. :)
When I went dairy-free while nursing my baby, my favorite was Silk cashew milk!
The mint kit kats have been my go to junk food snack last few months. YUM 😋
Hey Frugal Momma- I know you said you are doing some gardening why don’t you grow your own lettuce! I have started my garden this year and I have been loving it! I am all over it bc of the prices and everything going on right now in the world 🌎. Lettuce 🥬 is one of the fastest growing herbs/seed to grow! If you cut your lettuce 🥬 right when harvesting you will get more all season! God bless you & your family!
For salad use cabbage instead of lettuce. It keeps better and works very well. I use a sour cream or mayonnaise as a base for dressings, but you can use your regular dressing . Plain almonds are a snap to make almond milk. Then you have almond meal for making humus.
I LOVE the Herdez Guacamole Salsa. My favorite IP recipe is boneless, skinless chicken breast (or thighs), 1 jar Herdez, 1/2 cup chicken broth, 4 sliced jalapenos, juice of 2 limes, 3 tbsp taco seasoning and a handful of chopped cilantro. Everything thrown into the IP and cook for 20 min high pressure (25 if frozen) and then a quick release at the end. Remove chicken from the pot to shred then put back in to mix with the leftover liquid. I usually serve this over cilantro rice and black beans plus any condiment you enjoy. I love your channel!
That sounds delicious, I took a screenshot to try this recipe later in my crockpot! Thanks for sharing, hope you and your family are well 🤗
I have psoriasis also. Two big food triggers for me are milk & sugar. I'm sure there are others, I just haven't figured them out yet. I love your videos!
Grow your own lettuce in a bucket or easy to move container, that way if it gets hot or cold (snow) you can move it in out of greenhouse. I find that salad mix seeds are easier to grow than like a head lettuce (iceberg, romaine, etc). I usually grow my head lettuces when warmer outside. Also kale is supper easy to grow but only plant 1 or 2. It just keeps growing.
I'm sad that you've lost your smiths store too! I loved watching your clearance hauls. This week at my local Kroger owned store they have green beans, broccoli, zucchini and squash for 88 cents/lb, seedless cukes for 99 cents, super cheap tomatoes and salad stuff. I went nuts on it this week. We don't have good peaches and nectarines in stock yet here but I am ready for them!!
❤ almond milk in cereal ( hot/cold), to drink. It has the right texture to match whole milk w/o the feeling of fat sticking to my teeth. Used it in omelets. Cold green tea w/almond milk is kind of like melted shake.
Hey Christine, my mum gets psoriasis really bad but recently discovered she was gluten intolerant and ever since she cut out gluten she has barely any psoriasis now. She also found that being out in the sun has helped to. Sending love from the uk
I’ve had psoriasis since I was six years old. The only non-medication approach that has worked for me is a gluten-free diet (and lots of lotion after showering). When I eat gluten, not only does the psoriasis flair, but I also get gastro bathroom issues. I don’t wish gluten free on anyone, but it does work for me and my issues. Good luck!
I can’t have dairy and the BEST dairy-free yogurt is Forager! It’s cashew-based and doesn’t have a weird texture. It’s pretty expensive but my kroger affiliate usually has some on clearance
Ripple pea protein milk is a good one! I find the consistency to be very close to cow milk in my opinion, and the chocolate is so so good!
My husband has a similar issue with his skin. He cut out most sugars, anthing with food coloring, and milk. Seems to be helping. We love the almond milk diamond brand. Good luck!
Oh I could smell the nectarines! Peachy stuff is my summer addiction.
Same! I could eat my weight in peaches and nectarines and not feel a bit guilty
Loving life Thanks for sharing your wonderful personality
The two major diet changes that effected my psoriasis positively where removing dairy ( mostly the milk) . I did almond for awhile but prefer oat now. The other huge difference was starting my day drinking 16 ounces of water with half a lemon squeezed in and drinking that on an empty stomach. And the last was watching sugar consumption. My 25 year with psoriasis was 80 percent better with those three changes. And when i took the lemon water out it went down to about 50 percent better.
The avocado salsa makes a really good dressing for taco salad it is a staple in my house love it. If you find it's too spicy you can mix it with ranch dressing also on a balance is it out good stuff though.
for ac you might try some freon in the can to see if it works before spending money on fixing it and that curl stuff i use on my kids its amazing also fetch if you have medical costs for over the counter meds it really does help
Dark chocolate + Mint KitKat's are HEAVEN!!!!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😁
We love that Herdez! I love it on breakfast tacos!
It's so good!
That guacamole sauce you got is so good!! That is a staple in our house! We eat lots of Mexican foods! Yall should love it
I am also trying to avoid dairy to try to clear up eczema right now. The so delicious brand yogurt and ice cream is so yummy! I also recommend the silk soy yogurt and plant butter. And plant butter is the same price as regular butter at my Walmart (and tastes basically the same!) I would definitely suggest trying all the different milk alternatives for yogurt. They do have different tastes and some are better than others.
Thx for making me smile today
I love the Herdez guacamole salsa!! I often use it as a salad dressing. 😋
Hi I’ve just found your channel and I don’t know how I’ve missed it? Love your meal peeps. I bought large containers for my cabinets inside from QVC they’re lock n lock and I like them for the handles! I need to try your cheesecake recipe, coconut and lime are favorite here. Have a blessed day! A new friend from Alabama!
Welcome!!
the Guacamole Salsa is so good! Used it the other day to marinate chicken- YUM!!
Thanks for recommending Fetch Rewards! I did not know about this app until you mentioned a month or so ago. I already have about 6,000 points. Love all your vlogs but especially budget meals ones!
I just used your code to join Fetch the other day. So far, so good! Keep making awesome videos!
Love that you post as you are...no fakes here! Thank you!
Suggestion for the milk replacement, try the coconut milk/almond blend. Or just coconut milk. My family, with three eczema sufferers, doesn’t use cows milk. Big improvement on the skin issues. Also deodorant options, if you don’t mind aerosol, try the degree advanced protection dry spray. Also like the dove dry spray.
We love Ibotta.
I used the AIP elimination diet to pinpoint my autoimmune triggers. It's pretty extreme but the did recently do a study on AIP and psoriasis. Also, re: Almond milk, try making your own! 1/3 cup raw almonds, water, Vitamix or other high speed blender. Done and done. Froth it for your coffee and you won't remember why you ever wanted milk!
I signed up with Fetch and Ibotta from your recommendation and I love it! Over $200 back through Ibotta and I'm working toward my first Fetch Rewards card now.
Gosh I wish I had you energy and spunk. Just watching you and listening to you makes me tired. I have MS so I feel like a 70 years old (only 33) wish I could do all you do but I love watching your videos 😃 they get me motivated to cook.
I am female, and I absolutely hate women's deodorant. I use Old Spice and love it! My favorite from them is called Krakengard. They have another line of deodorant in a cream colored packaging that I just recently started trying out. I'm currently using Oasis, it has vanilla notes in it, I'm really liking it.
Candy bars just jump into my cart too. Hey, I'm not complaining.
You always make me smile with your sense of humor. Funny how some items just seem to fall into the cart when you aren't looking 😀. Love sparkling flavored water - looking for a watermelon flavor when I am out of the one I have (not a fan of current one). Let us know if you like the guacamole salsa. I have seen it but hesitated. The egg price was pretty good - we over $2 for a dozen right now. Have a wonderful week.
The guac salsa is AWESOME
I have acid reflux and long story short, my Dr told me to eliminate milk. Now I use unsweetened vanilla almond milk. HUGE difference! My stomach feels better, my digestion is better, my skin is better....you make a great decision!
I have a dairy intolerance and I use Earth's own unsweetened almond milk the original for cereal and vanilla for my shakes. I find it's the best tasting almond milk they make! It's going to take a lot of trying different brands to find one that tastes good to you!!
I used to have deodorant issues as well. Ever since I started using Secret Clinical Strength (gel kind so it doesn't leave marks) it has worked wonders.
The herdez guacamole salsa is fantastic with chicken in a crock pot or instant pot.... 4-6 chicken breasts, 1 jar of the salsa, some water... maybe add some onions..... cook it up... crock pot, 8 hrs on high, or 4 hours on low... instant pot 15-25 mins depending on if frozen or raw.
Serve as a burrito bowl with rice, Pico, black beans... or tacos.... yummy!!!! This is a staple in our house... my 14 year old calls it green chicken... and requests every week
The Kit Kat's are amazing.
Same issue with deoderant. I recently tried the Nivea deoderant, no sweat, no odor, no wet deoderant residue, super impressed
Try This: Cook butternut squash cubes with coconut milk, turmeric, black pepper and curry paste then purée for an easy, creamy soup; simmer coconut or almond milk with turmeric and black pepper, and sweeten with raw honey for a dairy-free golden milk; toss cauliflower florets in turmeric, black pepper, salt, garlic and olive oil then roast until tender. Stay away from cream cheese, sour cream, and cheese in general when possible. Love your channel 🤗👊🏻
I have a dairy allergy, I can have a little but not much but recently it’s been bothering me more when I eat ice cream or have milk on my cereal so I switched to almond milk recently and I’ve been feeling so much better, you can’t really taste the difference it’s great.
I ended up with that herdez in my cart also. Can’t wait to see what you do with it.
Good morning christine....how are you doing....great haul as usual...wish we could get great saves like this in canada..
Used to have issues with deodorants not working also. About 5 years ago maybe I found some Crystal deodorant on Woohoo! at my Kroger for $1. That one lasted me nearly 2 years and I have been using this product ever since and never have a problem. (This is the natural mineral salt stick. Now they make other types like roll-on, but I’ve only used the original stick.) In case it helps you! )
Pure maple syrup is an excellent substitute for vanilla extract in any baked good. It's pricey but less expensive than vanilla.
That yum yum guacamole salsa is a staple in our house.
Good morning Christine! Hope you're having a good day my friend! ❤
Is she really your friend or are you like me just feeling like she is?
I just call her my friend, I've been following her for a couple of years and feel like we've become good friends haha
I was listening in the background and didn’t realize you were being sarcastic about things ending up in your cart lol
I feel you about the lacking produce. I did a pickup order at Kroger (Smiths for you) and I got 2 containers of 2lb each strawberries, 2 containers of 16oz blackberries, and 8 bananas. When I unloaded the groceries at the house, both of the strawberries had a large clump of white mold on it along with both containers of blackberries. I was so looking forward to having cold fresh strawberries but was very disappointed. Also, going to a Kroger is like a treat because it’s about an hour away so that hurt even more. I usually only pick out my own produce but because of this virus and my dad being in the at risk category, and there being A LOT of people there, I had to do pickup. Still love Kroger, but never getting produce through grocery pickup anymore.
Yeah, I can watch while I clean out my closet.
Both of those KitKat flavors are really good.
That guacamole salsa is amazing!
I struggle with depression and migraines, when i exercize it gets better. December I had a really tough time and are back on medication. It is going better and i am slowly getting back to exercize. My medication make me feel hungry ALL THE TIME. I only picked up 1 or 2 kg, but are strggling to get it off. What can i eat that can help ? I must mention that drinking water is also a struggle.
I like the Oh She Glows recipe for cashew sour cream
Awesome video as always! Thanks for sharing. Definitely higher prices where I live in Ontario Canada as well ☹️
Lol that vanilla will last you about 2 recipes... lol 😍
Lots of lotion without alcohol for the psoriasis and eczema. My kiddo has eczema and my brother has psoriasis.
Dave may like cashew milk as well. It has a thicker (more milk-like) texture. Flax and macadamia milk are good as well.
I recommend the Dove dry spray deodorants. They are the only thing I’ve found that works for me! If they ever discontinue it I will cry for days and days
I LOVE anything mint and chocolate ❤😊
My husband has the same as your husband please let me know how you go with the foods you take out
I LOVE Herdez Guacamole Salsa!!!!
Great haul!
I transitioned from using cow's milk to almond milk about a year or a year and half ago, and I haven't gone back! Unsweetened vanilla almond milk, which I buy generic from Walmart and Aldi go amazing in cereal, smoothies, and protein shakes. It cuts down the calories a bit, so Dave might have to supplement some fat in his smoothies or protein shakes, but the transition is very smooth! Since I don't use almond milk as a drink but as something to go into something else, I go through it slower, so the higher cost doesn't bother me too much. Water is almost free!
Your car must be snacking on the way home, that is the second time this week you 'lost' produce on the way home. At least your car is snacking healthy....On a serious note over sow your rosemary, the seeds usually have a low germination rate. I sowed 20 seeds only 2 germinated. My DIL sowed a whole packet, she got a goose egg! Cuttings are easier to establish in my opinion. Great vid!
I think for plant milk, oatmilk is the most convincing in comparison to dairy milk but Aldi's is my favorite almond milk! The only thing I haven't found the best replacement for is coffee creamer
Tip: cashew milk is the closest to real milk I’ve found👍🏻 cashew milk ice cream is almost the same as regular ice cream
The almond milk is great. It works for my autoimmune deficiency disorder. They smell sweet. Love nectarines.
I agree with you I never get produce at Wal-Mart gross!!! Expensive to! I shop my regular grocery stores here Fareway and Hy-Vee in Iowa for the best produce and meat. Love your videos I like to shop cheaply for food to and like you we eat very well for less money!👍
I have psoriasis as well and I used tumeric and vitamin D and it helps a lot along with just getting out in the sun
My family loves that salsa guacamole...hey Christine
Birthday kit Kat is awesome
My husband was having issues with his feet breaking out in what looked like blisters but itched like crazy. I eliminated gluten and it has almost cleared completely up. Another thing to add to the process of elimination.
Love the Wal-Mart cards.
I use mine for gas.
I agree about WalMart produce. I don’t buy any produce there. I always go to Sprouts. Their produce is always wonderful and cheap when on sale.
I feel the deodorant issue. I've used the Nivea sprays, lady roll-ons, everything. I found a shield mens roll on that is amazing. And the new seeds are exciting!! I planted watermelon radishes and rainbow carrots today!!
Oh, me, too, on that deodorant issue. I have found that the gel works most of the time for me, but even then, I need to change brands every time. Weird, huh?
I have the same problem with deodorants! I love dove deodorants but for some reason I feel like they don’t last on me as long as Id like them too 😭 the secret clinical strength ones work amazing! They’re pricier but so worth it to me it smells so strong!
My parents probably picked that cauliflower ❤tanimura and antle. Salinas Ca💜 love your videos
Herdes is the best!!! Enjoy!!!
I bought nectarines this week and they are sooo good! So I could almost smell yours! Haha
For the skin problems it’s often a result of inflammation in the body. I have rosacea and have been doing some fasting to take away my inflammation and my face is clearing up after only two weeks. Just a thought... maybe something to look into? -Lindsay
I have autoimmune disease, and Psoriasis is one of my issues. For that, what cleared it up in two weeks was going gluten free. Gluten and dairy are the worst culprits for Psoriasis. Another helpful thing is to try to sit in the sun for 30 minutes daily if possible. I have since gone on an Autoimmune Protocol (AIP). It's an elimination diet for autoimmune disease. Usually there are other issues if you have one. I have done reintroductions and now my diet looks more Paleo. It has helped tremendously.
I absolutely love and cannot live without Fetch Rewards! Everyone in my house fetches...lol! I totally racked up on the 4K bonus referral rewards! I got 40k points in one day off referrals. Did you know you could scan fast food, gas, retail and pharmacy receipts? Anybody not using Fetch is cray cray!!!
How long have you used it? I've thought about using it, but so many people say it crashed on them after using for a month.
I have multiple auto-immune issues and going dairy free and gluten free has been a huge help to me.
Cutting out dairy helped my psoriasis considerably. Had to change to vegan protein powder also.
I used to have bad eczema all over my body and other issues. All my issues went away when I went wholefoods vegan! Would really recommend. It is a very alkaline, low mucus diet so there is no build up of inflammation in your body.
I don't eat any dairy at all. It's a major trigger for anything auto immune, so it's a good thing to try. I honestly don't miss it anymore, it makes me too sick! Withdrawal is a real thing! For me it was about a week of feeling nuts, just know it passes. Daiya makes a nice cream cheese and I just found recipes for making a homemade version. With vegan mozzarella and yellow cheese,it's better to use just a small amount, you won't want anything dripping with it. Just enough to add a little texture/ flavor. The great thing about no dairy in smoothies is you can taste the fruit flavor better and not use any sweeteners.
