I love old Hollywood homes . I like them better than the houses that are built today . I could live back in that era for the rest of my life. Especially the 60' and 70's .
1:51 My Godmother and her husband owned this house for 4 years, until they sold it in 2016. That year, me and my family went to stay there for 2 weeks, all for free. The house is literally just incredible
My Grandfather was a tile layer back in the heyday of Palm Springs...did many houses to include Frank Sinatras homes

I used to live in Debbie Reynolds house when I was a wee girl. I remember always seeing Liberaces house and Elvis Presleys. I never saw them coming or going.
my cousin went to dean martins old address a few years ago & found it to be a bit of a wreck looking thru the windows. it was a gut job.

Some of those celeb homes are not as big or impressive as I'd think. The sparse barren landscapes aren't that nice either. The pools & lawns are immaculate in a few images 👍😁
My hometown. Grew up there in the 1960's. Saw a lot of stars on those beautiful summer nights, and a lot of Stars strolling Palm Canyon Drive on those sunny winter days. Fond memories!

Sharnette Burns warm for the most part especially right now. The summer here begins to get quite warm and humid but once winter/fall hits, it gets packed with people from all over the world really. Used to work at the Kimpton Hotels and ran into Quentin Tarantino at the lobby for the Palm Springs Film Festival this year. I believe Leonardo DiCaprio has a home here also. It’s a nice place if you want to avoid traffic and a place to get away for a bit but living here is decent. Hope that helped 👍🏻

These celebrities had houses in various cities and places, they may not of lived in those houses but maybe once or twice a year and were back to their mansions in Bel Air or Brentwood or Hollywood

I will bet they did not have security cameras and tall, iron gates. I could not imagine losing my car keys and having to walk the length of those homes to find keys. Just beautiful. Sadly CA has gone to the dogs. No offence to animals. It is the humans that ruined CA plus the politicians.
What about the electrical that was run to the various trees (lighted palm trees) and outdoor electrical by the pool for example. Was the movie stars and singer's electrical work really professional looking back in those days in Palm Springs? I always wondered about the electrical work
You show Bobby Darin's house in the Hollywood Hills NOT his house at 845 N Fair Circle. Wrong house in your video. But he did live at 845 N. Fair Circle with Sandra Dee.

At the few “rich “ houses I’ve stayed at I gotta say there guest houses were so much prettier, comfy and just calmed...the huge houses where empty and it felt like walking on egg shells don’t step their don’t look here I might break...I loved staying alone in the guest rooms...this houses remind me of loneliness....in my opinion.

Nice, but some not as grand as you would have imagined.
Some homes may have been retreats from main residences situated in and around Los Angeles. Elvis had a place in P.S. too, that became a getaway for him and his entourage.

Most homes with flat roofs look like administration buildings. Carrie Fisher used to say her house growing up in LA looked like a post office. She was right. I would hate it.

That clip isn't Liberace it is Michael Douglas playing Liberace in a film. However, Liberace did have a couple of houses in Palm Springs - his last was "The Cloisters" his favorite home. Thanks for these - love the stars of yesterday.

Elvis' house there is pretty cool and it's actually pretty big inside at 5,000 sq. feet. He had Graceland and a wide array of different homes that were really cool in the Hollywood Hills for much of his life, too. And the Palm Springs house was one he would simply go to for a quick long weekend, mostly. Franke Valle (spelling?) next bought the home and before that it was either owned by the Jergens family (lotion) or Ray Kroc of McDonald's. Pretty sure it was Jergens, though.

Go there, and you'll understand. Unless you just don't like the desert.
The allure was it was a small town where these celebrities could get together but still be close enough to Hollywood and LA for work. There wasn't a lot out there at the time so they didn't have to worry about the public.
I have stayed there three times from the UK,as i am a cripple the dry air and sunshine make my body feel twenty years younger,i would move there in a heartbeat if i could,it's great there everyone should try it for a nice long weekend.
Do you see the mountains, the sky, the trees, the houses? I would move there in a heartbeat if I could...
