Finally someone notices Bright's lacking skills... I don't get why so many people are obsessed with him. Are they that shallow that they only look at his face without noticing how it can't express the characters' emotions correctly?
Most Fujoshis and Fudanshis only see his physical beauty. They ignore the fact that he's a poor actor and a mediocre singer and if you draw it to their attention, they want to kill you. I saw him guest star in "Midnight Museum" as a homicidal maniac and had to prevent myself from bursting out laffing, when I was supposed to be trembling in fear.
Both him and Win come from exceptionally wealthy families but are so bland and uninteresting as humans.

All of them are lakorn actors and well experienced (except for bright, it was his debut series as a main lead). Bright did such a phenomenal job despite being the newbie among these experienced actors

I believe half of gmmtv actors can't act at all, means it's hard to watch.
It's not that they can't act well, most of the gmmtv series are lighthearted and are made for fun, they are not serious story lines. for the sake of series many actors have to act childish and sometimes overact. but yeah some are very bad actors like bright..

Phuwin did good job only in two series.1. Gifted Graduation, not very excellent acting but he did far better than all his BL roles. 2. My Bubble tea. I sometimes find he is not okay in BL series

A more suitable actor would’ve made that drama 10 times better. Don’t even get me started on the voice…

To me Peat did an extraordinary (not just good) job in LITA. That scene when Fort found the journal and read it back to Peat was very emotional. All Peat crying scenes looked real, to me his one the most natural criers in Thai BL.

They did a decent job in Only Friends to be fair. Book wasn't able to pull off that cringe tub scene where he's losing it, but he did well with being upset with Top once he found out about him. However, like many of BL actors he tends to over and underact.

I thought Nunew did an awesome job acting in cutiepie.. He is one of the reasons I kept watching and fell in love.. especially knowing he just started acting and had no acting background skills.. 2 yrs in.. I'm impressed!!. He has so much time to get even better

I agree picking comments to match a subjective option you have is not objective and without the objectivity you aren’t offering anything constructive which is meant to grow, you are merely critiquing what you think without the personal or professional experience to understand the difference between the two.
Also as a bcba_d the analysis of facial expressions are why this should only be done by the experts like me who have the expertise to know what macro and micro expressions combined with both body and general behaviour says.

Phuwin may have not been that great in his past series but we can see in his current show “We Are” how he improved his acting.
While I agree with many on this list, with all due respect, I think Fort Peat as Prapai and Sky did a phenomenal job, given it was their first acting job. They specially Peat had a very complicated character to portray and i feel he did justice to it. Most of the other ones however are correct.

I was pleasantly surprised by Sky's character depth and felt that Peat did a good job too. Really made me feel for the character

Phuwin’s acting on We Are is cringe? This is such a bad take and it makes you seem like instead of watching and studying the performances, you are looking for comments critiquing them and stringing a video from that. Phuwin has improved so much and his latest performance is proof enough. At no point did over deliver or under deliver. This was his best performance yet. I was about to agree with you on your other opinions but this was obviously made in bad faith.
Hmm Phuwin acting is so good and natural in We are and their chemistry is damn good but still when is comes to kissing scene you can see how Pond doing and how Phuwin doing it. Phuwin never open his mouth or never taking pond's lips it's look odd

We have been getting good acting: Unknown, Kiseki Dear to Me, My stand in, Pitbabe-(Pavel, Sailub, Pon, Nut, Garfield).
These are really good acting dramas except last one (didn't watch yet so).
Chinese, Taiwanese bl's are really good

It is important to remember that GMM-TV and other big producers are well aware that most BL viewers are far more interested in the physical attractiveness of the actors than in their acting ability. Pooh Krittin, Dunk Natachai and Nat Nattasit, for example, are all lovely to look at, but have no acting range at all. It is impossible to tell what series Dunk is acting in from one to the next, because he plays the same role in each. Plus, of course, they are repeatedly cast opposite their shipmate, which means they have no opportunity to stretch their acting skills next to a different onscreen lover. Pooh Krittin was completely overshadowed by Pavel Naret in "Pit Babe", but because he is so pretty, the Fujoshis and Fudanshis are screaming from the rooftops that he is God's personal gift to BL, even though he was utterly out of his depth cast as a newcomer alongside a strong actor like Pavel Naret.
It does not promise well for the future development and maturity of BL as long as physical beauty and "cuteness" are judged as more important than acting ability.
They are even taught to act during filming!
Interestingly, I don't find any of the actors you've mentioned attractive. But I guess ppl just have different tastes. For example some ppl find Krist Perawat handsome while the mere sight of him makes me wanna vomit. That's why I never watched Sotus. 🤷♀️

Gmmtv actors who need special acting classes - Pond , Phuwin ( PP fans are going to come at me but both of them have stiff expressions most of the time)
Dunk , Marc ( In We Are his expressions were stiff) , Force (stiff expressions again)
How I love reading comments from someone who does not get carried away by fanaticism or fanservice and judges them for their work, which is acting. First and Mark are brilliant in each character. Jimmy and Sea with Aof, showed that you can grow in acting 👏🏽 From Viceversa to Twilight there is a big change. Earth in its beginnings and Earth now is another. Mix shined in Moonlight Chiken with First (An actor who has chemistry with everyone like Ohm and Singto) Tonlon Chonlatte's Khao had a big change. First and Khaotung know what they are going for ❤ Book, if he works with others, can continue to improve. Stagnating it in a couple does not give them any growth and is boring. Look at Book in Only Boo, as an older brother he was very cute and everything was fine until Force came out (They only give me a bromance vibe and of course with the number of years of friendship they have) That and many more must improve. The GMM provides many series but their quality is not always good.

1 thing I hate is when they pair a mature looking actor with a childlike actor it’s really off putting not to mention it kills the balance and quality of the pairing. Thai bl has a real problem with this. It needs to stop, it’s cringey and uncomfortable to watch.

But there are lines that we don’t cross whether in straight or gay relationships. I just think with using very young looking actors with more mature actors just conveys a muddy waters message.

My personal opinion pooh is just overshadowed by cast who are very good and experienced actors .he did a good job. His role is not big as they make in edits .love interest of hero . He is good actor .

😂The question is: what are the directors doing about their mediocre acting? I love Phuwin but his acting since i first caught him in Coz You're My Boy to his current We Are hasn't improved a bit. These kids could take an acting lesson or two from the very impressive Gulf Kanawut who's sadly nowhere to be found after TharnType.

I'm sorry but regarding Mew Suppasit I have to tell you that you are very wrong!!!Mew is an outstanding,very talented actor and it is not us fans who says it but all the Producers,Directors,Co-Stars and famous senior actor with whom he has worked and is still working!!All of them have praised Mew for his acting skill for his ability in convey emotion through both body and facial language,especially the eyes!I believe that their judgement is much more valid than yours,you know, we are talking about professionals with great experience and proven judgement!!Since Tharntype and LILAC Mew is improved a lot ,he works really hard to reach a high acting level and he is now a versatile actor capable of covering any type of role at his best as he already demonstrated in the numerous lakorn,drama filmed always as main lead, in just over 1 year!!!Yes ,cause Mew acted in eight drama,movies: Rak Rai,Love Me Again,Homeroom29,Mon Rak Luk Thung the musical in which he shows his great talent also as a singer,My wife
is a gunslinger God,the Package the movie,Rak Salub Lai and Replace Me the movie ,not yet finished filming.

As you see Mew's acting talent is now recognized by all and that's why he receives so many offers to star in various drama by great producer just like one of the most famous in Thailand, Ananda Everingham who specifically chose Mew to join him as the lead in his latest movie Replace Me,cause he believe in him,his talent and huge potential!!!

The reason why PondPhuwin are still bad at acting is bcoz of their Very much supportive fan base. They support them no matter what and wouldn't even listen to a single criticism about them so tgey know even witg their bad acting their fans keep on supporting them so they don't even try to improve
That's how it is. They both look very straight and not so in love in their series. They lack growth as actors. There was something better in Never Let Me Go than in his recent series, We Are. It's a shame that they can't even give their fans a good kiss even with so many series together and the great support. If Phuwin doesn't like kissing Pond. What does BL do? Oh yes, for the money. The worst thing is that they are not that good at dancing and singing either. I don't like to criticize but I expected something more from them. We Are only finished it because of AouBoom because they did know what they were going to do in the series. The same thing happened with Hidden Agenda, they saved the series. From Viceversa they entertain. I don't think they will change, they have a lot of support and look, two bad actors, Phuwin and Dunk, still managed to be main characters in a series. The fanservice is what keeps them up... and let's be honest. The GMM only has few mut actors committed to its performance.
One you didn't mention and is also an awful actor is Force, he is always with the same face you cant tell if he is happy, sad or in love, I didn't see emotions coming out of him. Please I apoligize for those who likes him.
The comment I have been looking for.. How come nobody talks about horrible acting of Force? He looks like he is extremely bored or just wake up from a nap in every single scene in all his series. Zero emotion in his eyes and no gesture no mimic at all. Even though it is one of my fav series I literally had to skip all his scenes in Only Friends. I know they are good looking nice guys but I think Book and Force - they have no acting skills whatsoever and when they act together it looks even worse. It is actually really surprising because they have been friends and in this industry for a long time I expected them to improve by now..Just compare their acting with First and Khaotung.. sorry for the rant but had to say.
I kinda agree, but he plays characters that lack strong emotion and are supposed to be serious or emotionally unavailable. It almost makes sense for him to be lacking emotion in the roles he plays. His boss in babe that's his characters personality. In Only Friends he plays a player who, once again, lacks emotion connection.
Imo he played his role well in Only Friends as a playboy. He was snarky, selfish, and pathetic when caught. I would say he could have done better with some scenes, but i'm glad he did over act the crying ( bl actors tend to over do it and ruin everything). Instead he would have watery eyes and a slight change in tone. I think this is why he is looked over for his acting. If he had to play a character with strong emotion....it would def show.

@@lamma746 I also kinda agree with you. He has been playing characters that lack strong emotions thats right. When he is flirting with Mew or when he is proudly talking about himself (esp in the beginning of the series) this lack of emotion makes sense but I kinda wanted to say that his mimics and gestures are the same almost in every scene entire 12 episode. For example his character Top has a childhood trauma (fire- sleeping alone) no fiction or real person can look almost the same every time (if he is not playing sociopath or psychopath ) even experiencing something related to his trauma. These led to one thing: we don’t believe his character. The main reason why his character is not realistic to me and my friends is that he couldn’t show his characters change. I mean that he started as an arrogant playboy to someone who wants to change for Mew and be in a devoted relationship with the same face. I really want to see him play another character so that we can see his acting more. if they keep giving him this emotionless characters I start to believe that they don’t trust his acting with other characters. I think he can still give BL a lot if he can improve more. Beside from him I also want to state that Marks acting was exceptional as Nick, I think he is the one that improve his acting a lot in GMMTV. A good example to a BL actor that can play all kinds of characters.

Bright is a very big NO for me, he's too overrated i never liked his acting, book, nunew, the lead couple from future and friends with benefit I don't like their acting
Agreed, except with Pond and Phuwin. I think they are improving their acting. When I saw Phuwin in Wednesday Club, I liked how he showed the feelings of the character, and with Pond, I want to see his acting skills in the new series Leap Day.
How did Saint make up this list?!?!?!?? He was literally sooo good in both Love By Chance and Why r u. He nailed both the characters despite bring soo young. Also Nunew does Not deserve to be here. Even with his debut series he did a great job. Fort,peat,boss,pond,net,james are great imo. Book isn't bad either he just keeps getting those dumb,cutesy characters which does not let him show his acting skills at all. He did a great job as shone in only boo and as mew in only friends the only characters where he was in a serious role. PondPhuwin did a great job in we are as well the only scenes that suck are the kissing scenes. MaxNat aren't bad either but they keep getting the same roles. Nat in Y-destiny was everything he did such a good job there but as soon as you put him in a cutesy role, it suddenly turns out cringe. He is a cutie pie tho but when he has to play a character like that it does not turn out as expected sadly. I've yet to watch two worlds where they are playing serious roles but i know they are gonna slay. JoongDunk would've been such a power couple if dunk was a good actor ;( it was so hard for me to watch The Hidden Agenda

@@Zoe50936 they finished the plot in like 4 episodes but they had to do something since they wanted it to be a 12-ep series so bad so they put in random scenarios irrelevant to the plot and stretched the series unnecessarily. I loved them in star in my mind and as a ship in general so I forced myself to watch it till like 10 eps. Honestly I want those hours back 😭😭. Kinda regret watching it in general there was no solid plot, script was a snoozefest and dunk's acting 🥴🥴. They need to choose a better script next time+ dunk needs to really improve I really do like him as a person. After watching the pilot of their next series, "heart killers" I am not really sure if i will watch it though they have firstkhaotung alongside, but I hope I'm proven wrong
@@offgun5708 Yeah what I’ve learned from watching a whole bunch of BL’s is that some of them they really do stretch it unnecessarily cuz some of them didn’t need 12 episodes frrr. Yeah I like Dunk as a person too but I also think that he needs to improve his acting. I’m gonna watch Heart Killers for FirstKhao but I feel like based on that pilot Dunk’s acting seems a little better so I’m gonna wait for the official trailer to see what the series will be all about but I will definitely be checking it out.

I just needed to comment my agreement on Bright! He's such a dull actor with zero chemistry with his partners.
The only time I thought he did exceptionally well was when he had the episode in Midnight Museum where he played the psycho stalker. I thought he absolutely nailed that part. Other than that though, he has fallen so very flat in everything he's done.
As for the ones I would disagree with, I actually really like Saint, though I think back in the beginning he was in some poor situations regarding managers and potentially "questionable" executives.
As for Love in the Air, I think the actors did the very best they could with what they were given. I thought that seeing as how they were performing in a MAME piece they did pretty darn well.
The biggest problem with Thai bl industry is not even the actors but they pick lame and shallow stories that don't stand out and don't require a lot of time and money the stories are poorly executed and the directing seems like a joke,the translations is the worse at times i wonder why can't they hire professionals and every series no matter how mature it is they always turn it into comedy honestly thai bl industry is just a big comedy they need to do better especially gmmtv they don't take risks if it's not high school love affair it's college boys being enemies to lovers and i don't know if it's only me but it's like thai bl industries come together to discuss what topic to focus on every year coz why different companies have same plot 🤔🤔off and gun's acting is also not good😏😏

I can understand Bright because it's was the type of role he got in 2gether and F4 which met he has to act cold but Win was just so confusing for me, he lacked so much emotion that you wouldn't even know when he was either sad or happy must times he just look straight up uncomfortable... And too me in Bl dramas or any other film genre, the actor before taking up a role has to just be comfortable if not they should leave because so many series has been ruined all because the actor isn't "comfortable" then don't take up the role

Amazing actors in thai bl industry according to me are firstkhaotung, yinwar( I think they are really underrated) , offgun, zee, fluke, ohm , perth.

For Pooh I don't agree as I've read the novel and his character Charlie always has that smile even when he is not supposed to be smiling. So it's a requirement not a problem with his acting, though he really can't make you feel the pain of the character sometimes but still he did good,, I'm waiting for his upcoming two series 🥰
Charlie is supposed to be this awkward nerdy kid. Pooh did a good job portraying Charlie's character. He only acted whiney/cute when he's with Babe. He didn't interact much with other characters, so you don't get to see that he's normal with other characters. hahaha

I am sorry to say but no way will I accept Pond and Phuwin in this list... their NLMG and We Are is so amazing and Pond is one of my most fav actor other than Gun (OffGun duo)... Pond has made me feel each and every emotions that he has portrayed and the way the guy can kiss gives me goosebumps sitting on the other side of the screen... Phuwin too has improved his acting skills drastically... They both are growing together as actors beautifully and I am so proud of them... Nunew too did prove himself in Cutie Pie... Saint was good too as per his role as the characters...Net was too good even though James was a little stiff with his character... so I guess I don't agree with your list completely.

Saint Suppapong is bad actor? How many series have you seen? Just watch Let's fight ghost, Sing again, Von and Devapron. All roles are completely different from one another! And Mew Suppasit has excellent acting skill even it's clear in TharnType. Sorry, please don't mind I think if fans don't like some plot of a series, or the entire series or some actor's personality and tend to mention them as bad actors! This is very sad. An actor should be judged about his entire career not by BL series. And Saint did good job in LBC, completely opposite of his own personality. I am agree about rest actors but not these two! It's not that I am a fan of them, in fact I personally don't like Mew's character but can't deny he is a jewel. Both in BL and his education life

I am so glad I found this video. Because I thought I was the only one getting cringe every time I watch most bl drama. I dropped be2gether because of bright’s Acting. And also dropped hidden agenda because of dunk’s acting too. I also only watch snippets of many Thai bl drama causes I couldn’t stand the actors acts. I find Korean bl drama has a way better acting quality than their Thai counterpart, in terms of acting and production. Event though they don’t usually show much intimacy. ☺️☺️

Bright has the acting skills of a brick wall, (which frankly, is insulting to brick walls!), and his musical 'talant' leaves a lot to be desired. I'm just grateful that he's finally left the genre.
All I'm going to say about everyone else, is that I will never blame the actors, (with the exception of Bright), for what we, the viewer gets to see. It is solely the responsibilty of the creators, screenwriters, directors, and acting coaches, many of whom I wonder where they got their credentials. What we see, is what they want us to see. Actors can only follow a script, no matter how bad it might be, follow directions given to them, and perform as the acting coach, (many of them getting far too up close and personal with the actors, invading their personal and being very hands on with them, as seen in many behind the scenes videos, which come across as downright creepy), instructs them to... and if any of those are lacking or bad, it's not the actor's fault. Give bad feedback where it's due - actors don't write the scripts, don't make storyboard decisions or decide how to shoot a scene, and they certainly don't decide how to play their roles. As an example, I cite The Middleman's Love, which had great potential, but Yim's portrayal of Jade, which was extremely loud, often beyond ridiculous, and always OTT, was 100% the decision of the director and acting coach. Yes, Jade was supposed to be cute, ridiculous, immature, naive and clueless, but they took it to the nth degree, making most of the series, physically and mentally painful, and exhausting to watch. I can't possibly imagine how Yim himself, and the other cast members could stand it... not least, the volume of Jade's voice most of the time!
Some of the best performances are produced by tiny, or new companies with low budgets, and some of the worst are produced by big, established companies, with huge budgets.
By the way, so many people have criticised Saint for his performance in LBC, but he played that role exactly as it was written. If there's an issue, you should have complained to Mame and New Siwaj.
I think people who BLs have watched a couple of popular series, and judge everything by those standards. Others just like to pick and find fault for little or no reason. Why can't people just watch and enjoy, and if you don't like it, turn it off? I'm so sick of all the negativity and criticism.

Who was left out? Pretty much 75% of the Thai BL actors. There's a reason why they have to do "work shop". I never understood why Thai was doing those "work shops" because NO other country do those acting practices. They do this practice because they pair actors base on their look and then they work on their "chemistry" and their acting. What is that? If you have good actors you don't need work shop. The worst is that even after all that time they spend in those stupid work shop and start the production the actors are still bad. But lets not forget that they also lack good directors and script. Thai BL industry is a big fan service. My view on most Thai BL is just about two boys that look great and will give viewers a few good kisses and nc scenes to please people so they can make a tones of money. It is their cash cow. It works and they know it too well.
My list of Thai BL bad actors is so long that it would be easier to talk about the very good actors because they are so few.
Per year there are only one or two really good series with outstanding actors in Thailand the rest just to please the audience.
That is why I prefer a thousand time more the Japanese, Taiwanese and Korean series and some Filipino series over Thailand BL.
So… don’t watch Thai BLs. 🤷🏻♀️ If you find them so off-putting, it’s a pretty easy problem to solve. Saves you the trouble of all that pseudo-analysis, and as you said, plenty of other countries have terrific BL offerings (and plenty of questionably acted fare as well).
Btw, plenty of other countries and genres of film and television do workshops and other pre-filming activities… Thai BLs are not unique in this.

They do workshops because of nearly everything you said, BUT it's because they find MODELS/IDOLS/INFLUENCERS rather than ACTORS. Actors TRAIN to be on the screen and many go to school for it. You can tell in Kdrama's too. Idols are not good actors, but they're handsome and train by acting in major roles.
Idol actors who do not go into idol groups are trained to become actors while other idols are trained to be in a group. Real actors go to school for it, take classes, act in theater and find a agency.
Japanese, Bollywood and Western actors are usually just actors who audition and make a name like other countries with a long history of influential film culture. Chinese actors used to be the same, but they're more on par with Korea style of finding actors.
Thai actors tend to be in movies and show's that aren't as popular. However, BL actors and non trained actors who want fame are taking over. I wan't to get into thai movies again because in the past I found so many with good actors. I found BL because of "The Blue Hour" . Gun is super talented, but BL holds him back with subpar acting partners.

I’ve worked catering jobs at actor workshops and for a plethora of different kinds of preproduction activities for both TV and film (various workshops, stunt choreography, dance choreography, vocal coaching, intimacy coordination once, etc…). But I guess you’re familiar with the industry in every single country… so, I must be misremembering those years of my life. (**I personally did not work in S. Korea - my former employer did).

During pre prod you need to practice in Stunt rehearsal, sports rehearsal for actors that are not familiar to that sport... Intimacy coordination is mandatory before shooting. You are all right with all of those. I'm a 2nd AD so part of my job was coordinating those meeting and rehearsal. But not on every movies or series. Just when it is necessary But the Thai is NOT what they are doing. They work the scenes help with the acting and the chemistry of the cast. Totally different.
