I understand that but why not give new music a chance? These bands have made their money and have had their place in society and history. Why not focus on new music breaking new grounds like Drake, Taylor Swift, The Weeknd, Morgan Wallen, Sam Smith, Zack Byran & Lady Gaga. This is what is hip now and what is celebrated in society. Why not give them a chance?

    • @businesscasualsauron
      @businesscasualsauron Рік тому +7

@@stallionstudios Not to disrespect those artists, but I would rather never hear music again than listen to their stuff. It's simply a matter of taste.
I want to stress that as much as I dislike their music, my comment doesn't come from a place of hate. I'm glad that their music, however much I dislike it, makes people around the world happy. I mean that's an absolute win right there.
That being said, I'll stick to my Sabaton, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden e.t.c.. (Though ska and punk definitely make their way on the list too.)
I don't give a single ounce of a damn about what's "hip" or breaking new ground when it all sounds like the same ear-grating rubbish to me, I'll listen to stuff I like. If those artists fail, that's on those who consider this music hip.

    Along deserted avenues
    Steam begins to rise
    The figure's primed and ready
    Prepared for quick surprise
    He's watching for a sign
His life is on the line
    Sworn to avenge
    Condemned to hell
    Tempt not the blade
    All fear the sentinel
    Dogs whine in the alleys
    Smoke is on the wind
From deep inside its empty shell
    A cathedral bell begins
    Ringing out its toll
    A storm begins to grow
    Sworn to avenge
    Condemned to hell
    Tempt not the blade
    All fear the sentinel
    Amidst the upturned burned-out cars
    The challengers await
And in their fists clutch iron bars
With which to seal his fate
Across his chest in scabbards rest
    The rows of throwing knives
Whose razor points in challenged tests
    Have finished many lives
    Now facing one another
    The stand-off eats at time
Then all at once a silence falls
As the bell ceases its chime
    Upon this sign the challengers
With shrieks and cries rush forth
The knives fly out like bullets
    Upon their deadly course
    Screams of pain and agony
    Rent the silent air
    Amidst the dying bodies
    Blood runs everywhere
    The figure stands expressionless
    Impassive and alone
    Unmoved by this victory
And the seeds of death he's sown
    Sworn to avenge
    Condemned to hell
    Tempt not the blade
    All fear the sentinel
    Sworn to avenge
    Condemned to hell
    Tempt not the blade
    All fear the sentinel
    Sworn to avenge

This was my 2nd Priest concert. Main floor, my keys rusted in my pocket. Pulled money out from my wallet and it was dripping sweat still. Went with 75 friends and we rocked the main floor. After the show I had to rinse my head in the drinking fountain before taking a much needed drink.

Its amazing how good sounding this is, it could easily pass as modern metal. Listening to this its easy to figure how these guys were way ahead of its time, damn pioneers man, geniuses.

In my youth, I used to listen to The Sentinel before playing rugby. It always made me want to crack some skulls. Now, decades later, I just listen while calmly drinking a cup of tea. Still a great song!

@@hugostigglitz9639The Judas Priest '98 Live Metal Meltdown album has much better versions of most the same songs that are on Screaming for Vengeance, Hell Bent For Leather (Killing Machine) and British Steel (including "Electric Eye", "Hell Bent For Leather", "Grinder" and "Metal Gods").
The 98 Live Metal Meltdown is maybe the most underrated Judas Priest album ?

This is as good as it's going to get ! They were already in my hall of fame when I first heard them. Don't trip Halford , we love what you and the crew have done. Don't expect recognition from the zombies. All your hard work and talent is appreciated. Thank you for all the great songs you have given us. In my book you are the true definition of metal and substance. Thank you all very much!!

Bought this masterpiece of a metal classic back in 2000 as a teenager. Around the same time, people told me that my passion for metal was just a phase in spite of having long hair, leather, earrings and every metal shirt you could imagine.
Today in my 40's, it remains my all time favourite album in the whole of music. Some phase that turned out to be, eh?
