I've noticed that the Chief Inspector doesn't really have that much of the Canadian accent maybe they were going for the early British Settler Vibe with his voice
I think it has more to do with the fact the viewers had little or no idea what a "Canada" is, where it can be found, or what a Canadian sounds like - and the producers didn't want to spoil that demographic by educating it.
@@williampulfer-melville8536 I like it too. In a show like Dudley Do-Right it doesn't matter at all whether the Inspector sounds like a Canadian or a Brit. In fact I think some of the jokes go down better with his voice just the way it is.
@@williampulfer-melville8536It's been stated in the show that the inspector was born and raised in Bogotá, the capital of Colombia. I assume he's the son of British expatriates and moved to Canada when still a young man.
This is the first time I ever saw the 1922 Red Ensign in any cartoon. This show is more accurate than The Simpsons.
Except that these Dudley Do-Right cartoons are set in the late 1800s! Yet as you alertly note, it is the post 1921 flag that pops out of the bomb. 😊
This stuff is still funny after all these years. Thanks so much for the upload.
I loved the part where the old Canadian flag comes out of the bomb. Never should have changed it.
I didnt understand why it did that but I thought it was cute when he saluted the flag.
Well look on the bright side at least Canada is still part of the Commonwealth despite the flag change

@@dontaylor7315fair enough though the British accent does fit the Chief Inspector pretty well

It's Paul Frees imitating English actor Eric Blore.

When Dudley tries to give Snidley his money, Nell snatches it like inspector fenwick gave it to her so that she could shop at Gucci 😂
That's 'Snidely'.
I do these voises when the bar gets boring., Some times a bit of ametuer stand up.
What's up with Inspector Fenwick having 10 eyes pop out of his head at 3:38 for a split second?
