@@UnixGuy Hello! I have just hopped onto the cybersecurity/hacking train. I was looking for solutions to the question explained below when i bumped into your UA-cam Channel. I have just finished setting up my virtual machine. I am running kali on vmware. I was running updates for kali when i noticed my antivirus(on the host machine) blocking some downloads and access to certain websites. Do you know how I can Fix this?
I found you a couple weeks ago and you are by far the best Cybersecurity UA-camr I’ve found… I started summer classes for my AAS in Cybersecurity. I’m about to start either the Google or Microsoft Cybersecurity cert to speed up the process and land an entry level position. Thanks a lot for sharing your knowledge and for your guidance.
Well done! Really captures the reality of modern-day remote work in technical fields -- everything from how stand-up meetings usually go to AI hype. Will be sure to watch this again when I need a good laugh.
What i love about this guy he answer's our question the other UA-camrs don't even bother and his the guy for your answers to enter the I.T industry big ups to u 😉🤙much love my G from ur boy EJ from South Africa❤ so if it's ur first time watching this dude you would be learning alot and not wasting ur time from this G and don't forget to follow him 😉👍
😂the alter ego who was fighting Chinese and Russian hackers lol I relate to encountering people who actually say that in real life. Especially about China. This is both family friendly and informative. Thank you 🙏.
Found your amazing channel just a few weeks ago, and I've been deep diving into your content and the beginning of my Cybersecurity journey. Do you offer mentor meetings? Thank you for all that you do!
Awesome, thank you! I don’t have capacity to do one on one mentorships, you’ll find most of the information that you need in my youtube videos (please watch them) and if you still require further help then I have a one hour paid mentorship call (link in unixguy.com ) (this is a one off call not an ongoing mentorship) 🙂
Wanted to listen to this passively while tidying my apartment but it got funny and I had to attentively watch along 😂 I’m here because I’m exploring career paths and whether cyber sec could be interesting for me :) (as opposed to web dev or data or ux design. I have broad interests 😅)
hehe glad you enjoyed it! Honestly having many interests is perfect for cyber specially broad roles. Here’s a video that will give you a better idea about whats cyber like: ua-cam.com/video/qx3Zu5GdiQs/v-deo.html and this is how to get started as a generalist: ua-cam.com/video/rz0RL4Xue-A/v-deo.htmlsi=t6r6lJ_6lqgCnk1j
Very nice video! Just finished my Google Cyber security cert. What are 2, 3 next certs you would suggest me to do? I am interested in a technical cyber security / ethical hacking job. Also, I'm starting with a traineeship as a Cyber security officer from this summer 🎉
Looks like something I want to be doing haha. Given your current knowledge in cyber security is there something that you are always studying or is it mostly keeping yourself infomed of new discoveries?
@unix guy In your videos, you highly stress the importance of having technical skills and experience to help further the journey into cybersecurity. Beyond job interviews, how important is it to possess the skills and ability to talk about the technical aspects of cybersecurity on a daily basis, depending on the career path one may want to enter?
it depends on the role! for technical roles: very important! for non-technical roles (GRC): Not needed. Here’s my GRC video: ua-cam.com/video/C6IgksBpMF4/v-deo.htmlsi=GEebPgzOAQa_j-rX
PLEASE TALK ABOUT THE CCST Certification?? is it a good foundation to start a career in cyber security and if do i need to take A+ and network + after it or nah ?

I would like to ask you about CCT certificate from EC- council for someone has the foundation of Cybersecurity. Does it worth? I've got a scholarship on it and I can pay only 200$ for the courseware training and exam voucher
Thank you so much! I have a question to ask you, even a short one-line response would mean a lot. I am starting my Google Cybersecurity Certification but am stuck between deciding whether I shall go for a Cyber Security Analyst or a Cyber Security Engineer. I am a student at Deakin University. LinkedIn suggests me that both roles have almost equal number of job opportunities in Australia and I find both interesting. So, given these two points, what job role do you feel has more openings than the other? I am a passionate individual and 'easy' is not an option for me, but I wish to put in focused effort on the right path. I have no experience yet, and I am a beginner. Thanks in advance. Your videos are helping me a lot.
The Blue team lvl 1 includes splunk so I saw it on another video. I was wondering if it's still worth taking a separate splunk cert, or does the BTL1 provide enough to not take the splunk cert separately?
Sitting in my van, drinking tea and laughing my head off. My clients must be thinking I’ve lost the plot 😂. Brilliant video. Ever considered Hollywood? 😉
I'm graduating soon and I'm getting a Master's degree on cyber security. I really didn't know what should I aspected from the real work! Thank you so much for sharing! I would like to ask you something cause I recently found your videos: I have a strong background on I.T with tech High school and bachelor's. I'm so confused on what to do with my life now... I studied so hard and I'm not scared of learning again but now I want a fine job with a good life-work balance and I really enjoy helping people in my life. Should I choose consultant field? Or maybe Auditor as you showed in one of your videos? My academic career is more researching/theoric oriented unfortunately. Thank you advance! I really enjoyed watching your videos. (Sorry for my english, I'm not a native speaker)
How do you deal with difficult people like in the AI example. I’m entry level so I don’t have to deal with that yet but I feel like I’d just continue being too persistent and vocal that my point stands

But I must unfortunately disagree, you can't say you work in cybersecurity if you're not constantly hacking, wearing a cool mask, and rewatching The Robot trying to impersonate the main characters personality..

Unix guy plz help is it too late to get into cybersecurity? My dream has always been to get into career path, but due to investment in my skills as a designer I progressed into ux/ii product design. I’m good at it, but I don’t really believe in it.
