Porter Halyburton Receives the Homecoming of a Lifetime After Triad Honor Flight

  • U.S. Navy veteran Porter Halyburton of Davidson, North Carolina, spent more than seven years as a prisoner of war in Hanoi, Vietnam. Now 82 years old, he’s one of 99 North Carolina veterans who flew to Washington, D.C., on the Triad Honor Flight, where he reflected on the familiar names on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial before returning home to a joyous and patriotic welcoming reception.
