Thank you Scott my wife and I enjoy your videos we're looking to move down there and you answer alot of the questions we have please keep doing what you do
Jaja. Rayban is actually from my home town (Rochester.) I need to get the chest / shoulder mount for the GoPro so I can walk hands free. It's hard holding the camera for hours at a time. Once in a while I walk with the headmount, but then I can't wear a hat.
Leon? Officially 212K. The departmento has 423K. We generally estimate the municipal area at 300K. The lines for counting are not all that strict. Like Sutiava, where i live, is the biggest part of Leon, yet not officially Leon. So it is hard to count. But as a city, Leon is the second biggest in the country and it feels it for the most part. But Matagalpa has an actually bigger, but more sprawling, metro area.
I know, right? BUT BUT BUT.... did you see in my shorts that I have an Insta360 Go 3 now? It's for exactly these kinds of scenarios. I might be able to get this kind of footage now as it is super discrete and I can wear it. I don't have to carry anything.

For ladies ,where do Nicaraguan ladies buy their cosmetics & skin care products there !? Are American drugstore brands there in Nicaragua 🇳🇮!? 👍💜🥁🐉🎤🎶✈️🇳🇮💞
There are no American drug stores here. But there are department stores and cosmetic stores and spas. Department stores (like a Siman) are a great location. But there are really nice, high end cosmetic stores with loads of expensive brands that you'd know. You can definitely buy them in any major city, no problem.
@@ScottAlanMillerVlog Oh ,cool !! Thank you so much !! I don't buy high end stuffs anymore, but I'm a drugstore brand cosmetic junkie !! Lol. Sort of ! Thank you so much for your reply !! 🙏👍😍💜🥁🐉🎤🎶✈️🇳🇮💞
If you go to La Colonia, it's all Nicaraguan's shopping there. It's too expensive for typical Nicaraguans, but wealthy Nicaraguans still outnumber expats dramatically. Easily 95% of people at La Colonia are Nicas. I've almost never seen an expat in there (even though all the expats shop there.) Most of the mall stores are only for Nicaraguans. Many of the chains in there aren't ones that expats go to. Other than Casa del Cafe, you rarely see an expat in there.
@@ScottAlanMillerVlog There are almost no expats left in Nicaragua, everybody is selling cheap, in El Paseo Real, they did not build the hotel or the movie house, nobody goes there, go to la Union and is full.
Silly that there is a no filming rule. If you think about it, there is less of a chance of anything doing something wrong if they think they may get caught accidentally on someone's camera. It's oppostite of security. Anyone who really wanted to film for malicious reasons could still easily do so and not be detected. Cameras are so small now and can be very covert. So stopping somoene like you from filming does NOTHING for security.
I can think of a couple reasons why they may not want videos of the facilities. One is people in the mall may not like to be on video. I guess Scott can answer that best from his experiences walking around and filming. Do you ever see people avoiding you because you have a camera? The second reason would be security. If you wanted to rob the location you could video security officer routines, camera locations, and money arrival procedures.
It's pretty stupid that now in Nicaragua you cannot film outside. Many businesses are scared the government take actions against them, for allowing ppl show the reality of the country. Also many businesses excuse themselves behind that censorship situation, so you as a customer don't show how terrible the service is, one example is PALI, pretty messy, dirty, even flies inside..so they say you cannot film and avoid to be exposed..
I've filmed in Pali and they never said anything. Although I wonder if, because that is Walmart, it's not a universal policy. Can you film inside Walmart in the US? Like as a policy. You can film outside everywhere. I film more than anyone and other than people warning me that I'm in "dangerous barrios" nothing is ever said. And police see me filming all the time and just smile and nod.
The only place where outside I've seen that you can't film (but wasn't told directly) is in Guatemala, not Nicaragua. And only in very limited circumstances. And only with a "non-phone" camera which makes no sense.
Thanks for sharing interesting walk n talk with beautiful videography Scott 👍

That shopping mall looks more beautiful than in usa where a live
It's pretty decent. Small, but nice. And very convenient.

You might need some of those RAY BAN video glasses to get all the footage Scott I hate we never made it to that mall while in Leon

Jaja, for sure!
Too bad you couldn't film inside the mall. Malls here are mostly empty these days.

Yeah, so few now. So many empty properties.
@@wilfredobermudez1181could you elaborate? Many expats sold their houses on the cheap and moved away?
Santa Fe Sawmill
Is that what used to be where the mall is now?
When is your friend coming back, the blonde lady?
Katt. No idea. She's currently working in Utah, I believe.

The only thing that I can guess is that they don't want these places full of people filming and not actually shopping.
