There was a B52, and a C17, one had a back-hatch lowered like an on ramp, we were able to go inside a ways, it was so huge inside, you could have a game of football in it!

Here in California, there's an aerospace museum in Atwater near what used to be Castle AFB. They have quite a few different planes, including a Convair B-36 Peacemaker, a Boeing B-47 Stratojet, and something I wanna get up close and personal with, a Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird.

Bell built he X-1, North American built the X-15. North American merged with Rockwell, which later became part of Boeing. McDonnell-Douglas also became part of Boeing. Bell merged with Textron which also owns Cessna and Beechcraft.
FYI, the Douglas American was X-15'd by North Pole not Jessica Beel and the 7th Heaven was McDonald's favorite happy meal . Im 99% sure that the X-1 is my daily driver .

There was a presentation by a Lockheed rep for airship for our EAA chapter. The presenter said it could carry some major military stuff ( maybe a division). When he stated the SLOW cruising speed, I realized it would need an escort for protection as it flew to Europe. That would be either the Navy from carriers, or the USAF and tankers for hours on end, with fighters dogged down to match the airship speed. When asked about it, the rep gave me a shoulder shrug and wandered off.
