What a gift to the world of Yiddish! Just 2 days ago I played for my Yiddish club (on Zoom) Chava Alberstein singing Manger's "Rabeinu Tam" from a partly grainy black and white original. And tonight I found this wonder! There at 13:41 is her number, but sharp, and looking as if it had been filmed in color yesterday. I've played the Golda parody for my club before, too, also grainy B/W. So I'm sending my club the link to this video. Eager to watch the others. !אַ שיינעם דאַנק

I thought you'd enjoy the whole show instead of the short clip. I take it, that you understand Yiddish. If so, are the closed captions in Yiddish or German?

The Yiddish captions are kind of an attempt closer to German, by ignoring the many Hebrew sourced words, also Yiddish is written using Hebrew alphabet with some changes. As for the English captions..... you should have waited and have someone who at least can read the Hebrew translation (you said you speak Hebrew!!) do the English captions. Tell you what, send me a part of the German transcript* (hopefully Tevyeh's) and other parts to other people (Michal?, though preferably in about 12 hours, Shabbat)
*The German transcription appears to be fuller.
PS... did you try to provoke me and other people into joining this translation?
