It's raining. I'm back from the office, dried up and lying on my bed by the window; Clothes drying up on the line above me; Dark blue sky out the window and the slightly dilapidated room is lit up by the tube. I'm reading Oliver Twist right now and this music strangely fits the mood, somehow.
Just got 4th place on a math event. Feels awful. Cuz i really could solve and complete two extra questions on the given exam during such event, and on events like this, those questions become the diferences between the 3rd, 2nd and 1st place. It was an exam for teams of three people, the topics were all the way from algebra to calculus. After i succesfully solved a question from calculus (one very complex), i was feeling confident about us, but my team, my team was vomiting acid from the stress of not keeping up with me and the time was running out. Kind of felt like a coach trying to motivate their students to finish their last few laps, but all of my students looked extremely exhausted. So as a fair coach, i called it off. Could've not cared at all and solved all those problems on my own, but they looked so done with it... Today, when they mentioned our 4th place, they looked surprised, but me. I was unsatisfied, i felt that i slacked of from a great opportunity to show who we are. Worst part is that from 5th to 1st place we all got the same score, but the difference was the time we delivered our exams. Could've went for it. and now its gone Damn
is just that kind of remorse that you have, the one people describe when they try to get to a new university "If i really tried i could've actually got a solid opportunity but now its just a long shot" I have a decent 4.0 GPA overall, but just today, on my last event as a highschooler, i feel like a slacker.
And then what? Do you need to be recognized to be great? Usain Bolt is apparently the fastest guy in town but maybe there's some guy running circles in stadiums for his own enjoyment and he constantly beats the world record as a challenge for himself? I think that guy walks with a different stride when he carries his discounted carrots from the shop, knowing that he's great, but not even trying to prove it - he already knows it, why would he need to?
I love this playlist so much. As a huge fan of all these artists and all these songs are on my personal playlists, it's nice to see others appreatiating their music. Keep up the great work!
