As kids we would stop and stare as one of these new T-Birds passed by; funky hide-a--way headlights, sequential tailights and of course the suicide doors were all great features and still are! Thanks Lou for bringing this great example today - still cool!
Hi Lou,my brother was lucky enough to procure a 2 door version of this Thunderbird in the same colour and vinyl roof.A one owner car ,429 and in excellent condition. He loves cruising with his family around the streets of Melbourne,Australia. Thanks to you and the cars owner for another fantastic presentation.Cheers,Rob.
When I was a kid in the 1970s, the people down the street had one just like this! At the same time, my Dad had a '70 LTD four door hardtop, white with black vinyl top and dark blue vinyl interior. Those people had the same model of house as us too! I've NEVER seen an 8 track cartridge like the one shown in the brochure at 8:13. I also never noticed how that Landau Bar transitions into the drip rail molding! And check out how the interior 'Landau Bar' does the same with the interior molding which runs above the door glass. Those gauges/instruments resemble those of my old '68 Cougar.

This is a beautiful example of a 1967 Ford Thunderbird 4 Door Landau from an automotive golden era! All its ornaments and chrome lines looked pretty in the sunlight; like that elegant one that runs along the side of the black vinyl roof, ending in a curvilinear wooden shape and the Thunderbird logo in the middle (without forgetting its striking retractable headlights and the striking elongated rear lights). A magnificent black interior, starting from its elegant doors (suicide type), seats and the elegant instrument panel with dials and knobs of aeronautical style trimmed in wood. The collection of manuals and brochures of the time is impressive; in fact, some look like "works of art", including the CD with discs in the shape of rings! (A curious mention, for the friendly little dog who also wanted to be in the video! Haha). As always, the final route was magnificent; It's like moving back in time to a bygone era... Congratulations to Mr. Castle for this beautiful bird of the gods, and for his others that he has already restored! Best regards, Lou!
What a styling masterpiece! From the headlights to the tailights, and the unique doors & rear passenger area, this T-bird is certainly a treat to see or ride in. I also enjoyed Mr Castle's custom CD in the trunk treats, too. Thanks, Lou!
I bought a 1967 or 68 T-Bird to restore. But, never finished it. Mine had the flip up lights and had the same tail lights. Suicide doors. And was red with Black interior. Matter of fact took my drivers test in a 1962 Thunderbird. That was my mom’s car. Thank you Lou. A beautiful car. Takes me back. Thank you so much for sharing! 💯👍👊
I saw here where it was described as a 67 Glamour Bird. Fittingly so. I didn't know there was ever a 4 door version of this grand and famous coupe in automotive history. I actually like it. Thanks for featuring this one Lou.
When these came out, they were so classy. They set the bar and it was quite high. Elegant all the way. It sounds fantastic when he started it up! Beautiful from every angle. Even the interior was total class! My 1993 T-Bird LX was not near as classy as this vintage!
Saw one like this, same color parked in the Publix in Miami Lakes parking lot. It was the best looking car in the lot. There's just no comparison to a work of art like this compared to the junk boxes people are driving today. Ford trim in those years was outstanding, even the scroll work on the inside, to match the outside.

My brother had one. The sequential turn signals were not working on this car. When I was a teenager those lights on the 64, 65, and 66 T Birds really captured my attention along with the wrap around chrome bumper. These were special cars.
I have this exact car, but in turquoise. It's a 1967 w/ the black landau roof, four-door with the rear suicide doors. It's even got the same engine that Ford FE 390 V8. It's pretty original, but I did switch out the carburetor finally here, The original died on me and instead of rebuilding it I upgraded to a hobby 750 with vacuum secondaries. Really got the engine running good though. One thing I did is I redid the brake system so I'll new metal brake lines brake hoses new front disc brakes in the front and I even converted the drum brakes in the rear input disc brakes back there as well. She stops almost on a dime now, a car of that size that's wickedly impressive. I know those old cars don't have the safety features like we have now so wanted to make sure I had a great brake system for it. Been fixing her up here over the years since I got her about 3 years ago. Almost done in the engine bay and then I plan to move on to the body there is rust under but it's nothing bad My mechanic said it's just surface rust we don't have to address it. What I do need to fix is the rust around the wheels and the wheel wells and there's some rust that needs to be addressed in the trunk and just kind of fix up the trunk area. After that then I just want to get a good decent paint job for that glamor bird. Thank you for making this video It was awesome seeing your car.
Great condition on this T Bird 😍 was love at first sight since they came out. Very elegant and beautiful from every angle. I remember the Hot Wheels in turquoise from when I was a kid.
I always love looking at those old Thunderbirds Lou! I had a 71 back in the day and one of my friends had a 67 and his dad had a 68. Brings back great memories! Thanks again Lou!
This car has the optional "SL" series deluxe interior with the nylon cloth. I always liked how big Fords of this era had that slight automatic transmission whine when accellerating from a stop.
I wasn't a fan of the four-door Thunderbird when Ford introduced it in the fall of 66. Thunderbird is a personal luxury sports car. Sports cars are not four door sedans. They are two door coupes. I was not a fan of the suicide doors either. In this case, it seemed to me the Ford division was trying to compete with the Lincoln-Mercury division. However, today, I can see how this car is a real collector's item. They are extremely rare. I don't think I ever saw one outside of the dealer's showroom. I think I would include it in my collection if I were a collector.

Hey big bro Lou Cos!! On this snow day here in NYC-more of an icy dud lol🤪🤣-I just watched this awesome video of this Thunderbird, man. This 'Bird captures my imagination, man. My (somewhat) crazed imagination🤪. And kudos to your buddy Kelly, Lou! Obviously a creative, fun guy (and 100% a car guy), and as an actor/singer myself I really dig his CD there. So awesome how this car is ALL about style and statement....and I'll tell ya what I see, big bro. First off, she's as white as my tubesocked stocking feet (of course). And as a Roman Catholic guy who was an altar boy as a kid, I see pure ecclesiastical, Addams family style in that luxurious interior and honestly that side view is right out of an Irish wake, casket-like doors and all!! I gotta say, man-as a "Salem's Lot" by Stephen King fanboy, I could 100% see myself being knocked out and in the backseat (sneakers off) while ol' Straker is driving me up to the creepy Marsten House to pay a visit to his 300+ year old vampire boss Mr. Barlow. YIKES!! You guys just gotta rescue me, big bro lol 🤣🤪. The fantastical style of these cars is really something else, Lou. So elegant and creative all around, everywhere you look and feel, and imagine...And for a lightweight JV baseball jock like me, well-it is one hell of a KO😵😵! Thanks for the inspiration big brother Lou! JV Johnny ⚾⚾
I had a chance to buy this model year, 4 door, but brown with the black vinyl top, way back in 1983 from a private 1 owner party for 1750 bucks. Darn, this year and the 4 doors is growing on me. I really missed a grand opportunity. Woulda, shoulda, coulda.
Started my car life as a Thunderbird nut. Had 3 1956s, 3 1957s, and one each 59, 62, 63, 64, 65, and 66. But once I drove a 1964 Rivera, I have been a Buick nut and a Riviera nut ever since. The GM cars of the 50s and 60s ride and handle world's better than Fords of the 50s and 60s. There are hundreds of cars I would love to own. I sometimes get the urge to try out a 1967-69 T-Bird two door hardtop NON-Landau version with the rear quarter side windows. Not a fan of the closed-in Towne Coupe style like my 66 was. My stepfather had a 1969 4 door landau for about a week. Never had a chance to drive it.
Not terribly popular relative to some other generations, but I like them a lot - including the 4 door, very luxurious. The story is that while the 4dr decision was still awaiting approval they showed one in black cherry to Iacocca who instantly said 'lock that in' (words to the effect). It still looks best in dark coordinating vs. contrasting colors because that tends to hide the cut line. It really needs the 428 or better yet the 429 which wouldn't come along until 68, but you lost the cool interior door handles and dash/console mounted power window switches (the 68 safety regs did not help interiors - not only did they lose individuality but companies began cost out stuff about that time too). Way, way way back, my kindergarten teacher had a 68 (the husband obviously made some money), and even as a tot I realized this was something special (it sure wasn't our Torino!). I have the deluxe T-bird brochures for this gen (and most other years actually)
Hi Joe, Happy to read "I like them a lot - including the 4 door, very luxurious" :-) Glad to read this one brings back memories of your Kindergarten Teachers car, Lou

I thought that the 428 V8 was standard in the '67 T-birds. Atleast that's what I remember seeing back in the '67's. Might have been aperpot with the full-size Lincoln chassis. Maybe shoulda coulda had a Lincoln 462 V8. A California State Senator, who lived in my neighborhood, had one of these '67's. He'd had Lincoln 4-doors before this but switched to Cadillacs after the T-bird.
My brother had a 67 two door. This car is really well optioned. The owner has had a number of T Birds. Did he want a four door the finish his collection?
"Boulevard Photographic" is a book about the company of the same name. It explains how they became the premier photography studio for the US auto industry, doing their national advertizing, servicing literature, etc. It is mentioned in the book how they would often source female models to pose with the cars from their secretarial pool. Backseat jockey Madam Thunderbird could have been one of these secretaries. The reprisal the owner of this car has is a hoot!
Nice car Lou! Next door Neighbor father had one of these and I have the impression that it was very torky and moved quite well for a big car. Was the 427 HO available as an option to the later year T-Birds? Thx again Lou!

Hi there I live in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada I have two of these bad boys 67 tbird, one have 4 wheel drum brakes and the other have fron disc breaks and I am downsizing and they are up for sale
Lou!!!! The whole story should have focused on Ford's decision to make a four door T Bird.. I did a search and found that they made a 4 door until 1971. That was so Un T Bird. You showed the power seats but did the car have power windows? Lou you know the cars from the 50's and 60's seldom had power windows and especially A/C. Please delete the tags and focus on the car's functional story. Especially the options unique to the car story. Lou you too often drive me Fing nuts on the stuff you cluelessly overlook.

Love the early "Glamour Birds", as we called them.
5" longer wheel base on the FORDOR, which I always found interesting.
Happy to read you love the early "Glamour Birds" :-)

This car has the optional "SL" series deluxe interior with the nylon cloth. I always liked how big Fords of this era had that slight automatic transmission whine when accellerating from a stop.
Hi Michael, Thanks for viewing and sharing what you notice and hear, Lou
Love the Thunderbird, love the retro brochure! 😍😍😍😍😍 Thanks Lou!
NICE! You're welcome motorTranz!
Beautiful ride you have there my friend!👍 I own a 76 that I Love to drive.
Happy to read you're enjoying your fun car too :-)
💕👍 very impressive 💪
Happy to read this one is very impressive :-)
Great car story Lou. Keep up the good work.
Hi malik, Thank you for the encouraging words :-) Lou
I wasn't a fan of the four-door Thunderbird when Ford introduced it in the fall of 66. Thunderbird is a personal luxury sports car. Sports cars are not four door sedans. They are two door coupes. I was not a fan of the suicide doors either. In this case, it seemed to me the Ford division was trying to compete with the Lincoln-Mercury division. However, today, I can see how this car is a real collector's item. They are extremely rare. I don't think I ever saw one outside of the dealer's showroom. I think I would include it in my collection if I were a collector.
Hi Daniel, Happy to read "I think I would include it in my collection if I were a collector." :-) Lou
4 on the doors. Really cool.
:-)
Straight Facts.🔥🔥🔥🔥

Fly high four door bird! It was such a big deal when Ford added the rear door. Some auto critics bemoaned the "sacrilege." Still quite a unique auto.
"Fly high four door bird!" NICE!
Beautiful!!!!!!
:-)
The 67 had the nicest interior of that gen...so much detail. I actually prefer the 4 door.
Hi Steve, Thank you for viewing and sharing which one you prefer, Lou
Bonus comment - great Trunk & Treats!
You're right!
Great car, thanks. Love the flower pot steering wheel. I didnt think the '60s smelled all that wonderfuls, too much patchouli
Hi Steve. Happy to share this "Great car" with you :-) Lou
Hey JV Johnny, Happy to ride you out of the creepy Marsen House in this rare styling Bird :-) Stay warm my Man, Lou
I had a chance to buy this model year, 4 door, but brown with the black vinyl top, way back in 1983 from a private 1 owner party for 1750 bucks. Darn, this year and the 4 doors is growing on me. I really missed a grand opportunity. Woulda, shoulda, coulda.
Hi Kevin, I think we've all missed buying some good ones in our past :-) Lou
nice bird lou 4 dr
Happy to share this car with you Frank :-)
LOT'S OF T Birds in your garage over the years :-)
got one so identical to this!
Happy to read you have a fun car too :-)
I'm buying it someday!
Hi Joe, Happy to read "I like them a lot - including the 4 door, very luxurious" :-) Glad to read this one brings back memories of your Kindergarten Teachers car, Lou
the glamor bird!

Hi Automated Electronics, Happy to read this car brings back memories of your CA State Senators car :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
My brother had a 67 two door. This car is really well optioned. The owner has had a number of T Birds. Did he want a four door the finish his collection?
Hi Bill, Happy to read this brings back memories of your Brothers car :-) "Did he want a four door the finish his collection?" Not sure, Lou
3:37 - L@@K! He's got a whole herd of 5th gen T-birds in his driveway!
....stay tuned :-)

Awesome!!!!!
👍💯😎💯👍

"Boulevard Photographic" is a book about the company of the same name. It explains how they became the premier photography studio for the US auto industry, doing their national advertizing, servicing literature, etc. It is mentioned in the book how they would often source female models to pose with the cars from their secretarial pool. Backseat jockey Madam Thunderbird could have been one of these secretaries. The reprisal the owner of this car has is a hoot!
Hi Helping Hand, Thank you for sharing your knowledge of the book. Sounds like a good one, Lou
Nice car Lou! Next door Neighbor father had one of these and I have the impression that it was very torky and moved quite well for a big car. Was the 427 HO available as an option to the later year T-Birds? Thx again Lou!
Happy to read this car brings back memories of your Next Door Neighbors Fathers car :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing., YW Bradydog!
Lou, you should have worn a tuxedo while filming this Thunderbird!
That's a good idea Randy!
Not Suicide doors. Suicide doors were FRONT doors that opened from the front on 2 door vehicles. This vehicle being a 4-door has Coach doors.

Hi there I live in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada I have two of these bad boys 67 tbird, one have 4 wheel drum brakes and the other have fron disc breaks and I am downsizing and they are up for sale
Hi Wesley, Happy to read you have two fun cars :-) Hope you get the prices you're looking for, Lou
It would have been nice if they continued with 4 dr version of the T-bird. They might have continued making them after cancelling the 2 dr.
Hi danam0228, Thanks for viewing and sharing, Lou
Was this the model and year of prince car?
Hmmm, not sure. Hoping a Viewer can share knowledge.
Looks better than a Lincoln
NICE!
Have pictures in colorado running but needs paint
Thank you for sharing.
Suicide doors make a 4 door very desirable.
Glad to read you like them.
Bill!!!! DON'T HOG ALL THE FING NUTS!
Love TBirds, all up to this generation. After this one…..meh.
Hi Ashley, Happy to read you enjoy this car :-) Lou
I have 1 1967 to sell Thunderbird 390 c6 auto 3000.00
Hope you find the right buyer for you :-)
It's too bad that Ford didn't continue to compete with the Corvette.
Yeah but then we wouldn't have these gems!
The "Baby Birds" are very cool. Many on the Channel to enjoy.
Ford definitively won that battle (If you could call it, that by 1957) with the Paxton Super Charged 312 Y Block.
Tbiriffic That was kinda fun and educational Thanks for another great show of auto shows,
"Tbiriffic" NICE!
