- December 1958.
Footage of the first All African Peoples Conference held in Accra, Ghana. The conference was attended by over 300 delegates from 28 African countries and colonies. It lasted from December 8th to 13th.
Dr. Nkrumah said that all African countries must unite in the face of their enemies. He asserted that they would adopt or adapt methods used by other countries if they are suitable, otherwise they would be rejected. When warning that the dangers of colonialism and imperialism may approach in different guises, he advised Africans to be alert. He stated that it was the decade of African independence and that after that was completed, it would be time for a United States of Africa.

Note:
Interesting article from a Kenyan media portal about the relationship between Kwame Nkrumah and Tom Mboya which was initially very strong before it broke down.

I have no idea who the atist Buffalo Souljah is. But he should NOT be credited by UA-cam as the creator of the words spoken by Kwame Nkrumah in this upload. I have inserted the appropriate source credit. It was originally filmed by ITN and is administered by Getty images.
He was fearless, charismatic, articulate, prophetic, and visionary. Indeed, Kwama Nkrumah never dies. I think his vision was far beyond that of his contemporary and Africa at large.
Nkrumah ruined Ghana.
@@johndeagle4389 tell us how
@Jeff do you know Nana Addo
@@johndeagle4389 kwasia u dey follow cheap propaganda dey talk shid abt Nkrumah. Go check the massive projects he did
@Philip Adjapong despite his architecture role that paved the way for the total extripation of colonialism from the African continent which subsequently led to the liberation of Ghana from the era of hegemony to being the first Africa's independent nation, he was a disguised demagogue that was politically ambitious.

Listening to this man fills my eyes with tears as I cry for my Africa because of the current cowards we have as leaders.
@Gibson Ampaw the reality is that whenever a government is under threat for its continued existence, civil liberties suffer. that's true of any country. the nkrumah government was under threat of overthrow. you cannot view the nkrumah government outside of that context. ultimately it was, by virtue of a cia-backed military coup. the cia wanted ghanaians to think that the overthrow was a good thing. while it was a good thing for the cia, it actually was not such a good thing for ghana and africa in general. in getting rid of kwame nkrumah and patrice lumumba, the cia got rid of the two greatest threats to the continuation the "colonialism in a different guise" that nkrumah warned about in this speech.
@@paperwait9611 I agree with you that Nkrumah was a great man but his only faults are he could've perhaps concentrated more on his country instead of a unified Africa and he was a communist. He wanted a socialist community with one party and him as a leader. His intents were could but his method weren't and unfortunately he got overthrown by a dickhead of a leader who had no idea what to do which subsequently continued till democracy. The problem of Africa atm is not learning from the mistakes of the pan-african leaders. Hopefully, the next generation isn't filled with incompetent politicians like today.
@@lar.bi_therefore we will still be slaves the whites will continue to rule us till death, America has 50 states they came together and that is why they are powerful, Europe they came together and that is why they are powerful only Africa we always think only about ourselves we take little dollar from the white and stab the back of our own Africa we are 54 states what do you think that if we were to come together the west could have stand us? No way but selfish individuals choose to destroy us and that is why today their generation are flying to the same white man's land to go clean toilet for food we are fools Africa some of us
A true visionary. He always believed in a united Africa.
Kwame Nkrumah and Kenya's Tom Mboya in the black suit, great sons of Africa.May they both rest in peace💐🙏
Tom Mboya was assassinated in cold blood. Assassination that nearly marred Kenyatta's government and paralysed Kenya.
Thank you so much for the upload. Nkrumah was a prophet!
“...tomorrow the United States of Africa”❤️❤️❤️
what a statement one police force one army one air force untouchable
My hero...
The man who never dies❤❤❤
"Don't let us also forget that colonialism and imperialism may come to us yet in a different guise not necessarily from Europe. We must alert ourselves to be able to recognize this when it raises its head and prepare ourselves to fight against it."
Wooow, Nkrumsh actually saw it all.... he was actually blocking all the chances of the western enemy but his own people allowed themselves to be used against their own country.
He saw the Chinese coming! He saw the Chinese coming! Oh my God he saw the Chinese coming!!!!!!
@@comforttv8562 i suspect that he was most likely thinking about the united states.
As soon as he said that, I thought of the Chinese...he couldn't have been more prophetic...
Yeah Seh, Our Messiah Dr Kwame Ngolomah (, Nkrumah) saw the Asians Chinese, Russians, coming,,,but Anarchist
Hmmm, his own roommate's betrayed him .
Dr kwame Nkrumah ooh I no grow up to see u,may u rest well GREAT HERO
Tom Mboya from Kenya showed so much love and support for Kwame Nkurumah.
Tomorrow united state of. Africa 🌍🌍🌍🌍🌍🌍🌍🌍🌍
Nkrumah was far beyond his contemporaries. They couldn't stand him but sting his back. Nkrumah should have listened.
Great leader of all times
If his types are born again,we will be great again as Africans.
Real African leaders, they always preach "unity" and independent. #ALutaContinua
Show boy I salute you.
Kwame nkrumah a true son of Africa 🇬🇭🇬🇭🇬🇭🇬🇭🇬🇭🇬🇭🌍✊
Listing to him my eyes full of tear May his soul rest in peace Hmmmmm Ghana and Africa had lost great Leader
A man with true heart of love to free Africa
Long live the great son of Africa🖤🖤
United Africa should have a movieFrom all continents across the world
He is the greatest leader of all time.
Powerful speech
Is there more footage of the conference? Was it televised? If so, I'd like to see more. As an Nkrumahist, it'd be good for me to see more of the Osageyfo on film.
NPP, the party in power will not promote Nkrumah; instead they promote JB Danquah who was against Nkrumah. So how do you expect to see footage of Nkrumah? Alas a Nigerian brother has to publish it.
@@milkoansah-johnson8768 one of the things that i don't like about nana akufo addo is his use of the government of ghana to settle his personal issues with kwame nkrumah. in general, akufo addo projects a certain degree of personal insecurity, which i think is his biggest weakness as a leader. while i think that the npp government has done some things right, there are also some real problems with that government, in no small part because akufo addo seems unable to keep members of his party under control. for example, there is no way that hawa koomson should still be a minister of state after acting like a street gangster at the kasoa voter registration center. forcing auditor general daniel yaw-domelevo to take leave until after the election is over, under dubious legal grounds, looks shady and corrupt.
@@paperwait9611He's a neo-colonial puppet who serves. foreign interests.
The day ghanaians over threw
him is the Ghana sent Africa to slaughter house. Ghanaians have done Africa more harm than good by what they did to this man. Nkrumah never dies.
Right. But a great man like Nkrumah should have planned to exit when the music was loudest rather holding on to power for too long.
We are sorry Africa
I agree with you
@emmychannel5563are you serious he wasn't in power for long which history did you read?
@emmychannel5563 As prime minister from 1957, he was not fully in charge. He was president for less than 5 years from 1961 when Ghana gained republican status. Many of the useless leaders we have today have been in power for far more years yet you have no problem. What is your point actually?
Love africa
Tom mboya was their them dazy
Hmmm his fellow brothers betrayed his vision
we are own enemies
❤❤Our great leaders ❤❤
The Lord of GHANA and AFRICA as a whole🙏🙏🙌🙌✊

Kenya will miss Tom mboya🙌🏾
The face of Africa 🌍 🙌
We will fight until our final breath to see Osagyefo’s vision materialised. In - as he said - the sacred name of Mother Africa.
The killing of Nkrumah is the downfall of whole Africa
@Kobby Sack where did the cancer come from? A bouquet of flowers presented to him..They killed him.
@@comforttv8562 nkrumah died from prostate cancer. i don't know where you got the "bouquet of flowers" theory.
Upon listening to this speech,I am very saddened looking to governance and their thought and actions I think now is the time to putting them at their right place. GOD PUNISH ALL CORRUPTED LEADERS TO THEIR ENTIRE GENERATION.
Nkrumah's submission made so much sense, but it will need a lot of education and grassroots engagements across Africa for us to understand him.
People see him as a problem to Ghana. As at today, those people still think Nkrumah was wrong.
Government is spending $5 million to purchase cocoa for consumption in schools, give to the security services.
5 million dollars. US dollars.
🤣😅😄😋
I think what lacked in Africa (generally speaking) was the universal education for all. The elite sought power post-Nkrumah and gained so thanks to the simple undermining of the population. Many of those who, intellectual as they were and who would oppose, fled and left the countries at bay
Happy Hero 🔥
Is not too late Africa we can do it.
Some times I cry when listening to this man
Same apply to me😢😭😭😭🤦
Nkrumah show boy
Nkrumah knew africa too well...
i admired tom mboya when i was a kid. i don't know why news reporters reported on him in the united states, but it was through those reports that i was able to hear him speak. his assassination was yet another shame.
He was 30 years old when he appeared on the cover of the Time Magazine. But the west loved him because he anti-communism
Ghana would be wise to declare Nkrumah a Prophet now or would be forced to declare him a Saint in Future
If the Western powers would stay out of the affairs of the African people, Africa would shine in new glory. Therefore, as an African, it is of great importance to me that we finally unite against the tyranny of the Western powers. That is why I would like to explain to you my position when all those in whom African blood flows return to the African continent. My brothers and sisters who are scattered all over the planet would have to unite in Africa!!! In order for this continent to gain the power that they originally tried to rob from it!!!
Africa the African 2021!!!
He was a Hero, legendary Prime Minister!!!
Rest in peace kwame nkrumah
AFRICA!!!
Brother Kwame Nkrumah wanted Africans wherever we are globally to come back home. Also the so called United Nations were so shocked than an African male can speak so articulately like that because Nkrumah wanted to show the world that Africans are civilised and beings too.
What irritates me about this is that getty images has the audacity to lock this footage behind a paywall
All I commentsd, was that, our grand leader once said that,he was not an african becouse he was born in Africa;but becouse Africa was born in him.whether you like it or not, that is he once said.
Unfortunately,he died without seeing his dream come true
He will watch Africa Unite from the Ancestral Realm. Make no mistake, he is with us. Perhaps not in the flesh. But those with ears to hear feel his presence.
He was talking about chinese will come to africa and own it if africa stays devided.
See how they introduced Nkrumah , like a villain.
Africa will arise
I always say he is the greatest leader in the world nit only in Africa. His books that he wrote dr kwame nkrumah proposed Africa world trade centre that time then Americans stole it and build their world trade centre
He wanted the United state of Africa! Never came to light though.
It seems impossible until it's done
We suffering for not listening...still formenting foolishness...As a result we have become the most disrespected race..
The idea of a Danquah Institute in existence is an insult to Nkrumah & Ghana.
Hmmm say it again my brother
@@milkoansah-johnson8768a big insult
GOOD SPEECH
But it will be difficult for Africa to be run as a United Africa
Africa has different languages and numerous cultures ...
The EU is an example ...!! EU will implode with any luck when UK leaves the cesspit
Your opinion though. When common minds exist it can be done without western influence
Nkrumah didn’t speak like a Ghanaian his accent i mean .His accent is more like Sierra Leone or Liberian accent
That is how a typical Ghanaian nzema man speaks
Why do you block me becouse of my opinious?Reactivate, couae I have the right to express my feelings.
So pathetic!!! Those who were there clapping were far behind our hero three hundred years in thought.
