I believe I just saw the Doppler going into Cancun and Gulf of Mexico..Hurricane Hilary was charging through the Pacific Ocean on Saturday heading toward Mexico and the United States, where it could cause heavy rain and dangerous flooding even after weakening.
The hurricane, was about 175 miles south of Punta Eugenia, Mexico, and about 535 miles south-southeast of San Diego as of 8 p.m. on Saturday in Los Angeles, the National Weather Service’s National Hurricane Center said in an advisory. Meteorologists have said that the storm may cause “life-threatening” and potentially “catastrophic” flooding in Baja and the Southwestern United States, starting this weekend. That’s what I have seen so far.

The big news organizations are misleading, it’ll be a weak tropical storm when it makes landfall. But there will be big totals on eastern facing mountain slopes. Though they did mention the tropical storm warning in effect. And I understand that headings need to grab people’s attention, though it’s misleading

Don't take this lightly! I'm from Houston, TX and can tell you a little something about storms. It doesn't have to be a Hurricane to cause a lot of damage. TROPICAL STORM ALLISON in 2001 brought tons of rain a flooded many parts of the city. Be careful everyone, Prayers!

The hurricane seems to be stirring up the low pressure system currently in place over Central California, a day north of the Hurricane. We just had a lightening storm worthy of Oklahoma, hard and needed rain, and our power is already out.

The Chinese don’t grow enough of their own food to start a world war! They’ve already lost a lot of crops this year due to drought, extreme heat, and then flooding. If they cause any trouble, air travel and shipping to China will end and a half billion people will quickly starve to death.

Here in Southern California, not even a breeze, no clouds in the sky, zero rain. Is this a joke? Weather forecast shows possible light rains maybe within a 500 mile radius.
Hoping it's not as crazy as some news people are reporting. Expecting something like a bigger winter storm but manageable where we're at in OC . Palm Springs and other areas out that way will get it much worse.

Don't worry or make fun that it won't be a cat 1 when it hits land. Worry about the massive flooding that is and will destroy it all in the cities. Don't blow it off like it's just rain coating coming. Best leave area now, pack up essentials with tent and go camping for a week far far away from CA or any flood zones.

Mud slides and floods...this willbe the first epic storm anxieties for many of us. Power outages...Prepare is all we can do and wait. I live 10 miiles from the beach Los Angeles county the roads will be slick and i pray people stay home and not venture out. Water and charged electronics and foods that can turn into sandwiches We have peanut butter jelly on hand and animals have food and water. Thankyou for prayers ..we will need them, the burn areas will be affected with so much water.

The Long Valley Caldera near Mammoth Lakes CA is in the path of the storm as well. There are signs that it's awakening after 100,000 years of slumber. And what can cause volcanic eruptions? Water that gets into the magma chamber and becomes steam
If u live in flood prone areas watch the reports on weather and stay safe. Folks i been in many hurricanes the northeast quadrant is where flooding rains will be and tornadoes its too early to tell which way this hurricane will go. U need flashlights batteries and a case of water and some can food u should be ok. Don't panic be calm if this storm is fast moving u be ok but if this hurricane stalls thats something to worry about. i wish everyone a safe time no damage no power lost. Power lost sucks i live in Texas its hot as hell here we lost power from thunderstorm 60 mph wind thank god it was at night i pray for u pray for us in Texas too this heat is ridiculous.
