1 - Do we care if a return pump fails and 2 - How are multiple tanks affected by dual return pumps - do you have 2 for each? My strategy is going to be to use a Sicce SDC on my next build to get an alert should the pump stop and then use a battery backup on my small Tunze for flow in the tank. I'm in Czech and, touch wood, I can't remember the last power outage and they are short. Once I was away and my heater cracked and shorted everything. My battery backup saved most of the tank. If I had a dual return pump I probably would have had a heavy metal wipeout. I really need to buy a new battery as my old one is gone - and I will get a LIPO4 (I bought some converter). I think the perfect return pump setup is to get a versa return pump with battery backup and sicce sdc for temp alerts. I like to have double return pump setup or if I can’t fit two return pumps to have extra one just in case. On my mix tank I have 2 return pumps going in all 3 tanks. U where very lucky then! 😎 I am half Czech and half Serbian btw
@@ReefUnderTheRoof I'm Australian but have been here 10 years :D I would have guessed Serbian if pressed because I work with a Goran. Makes sense - I want to see better battery backups and I think the Ecotech one is expensive and it's lead acid. Someone is making battery connectors in the US on the Telegraham channel - you can ask Jim. Then you can connect up a LiPO4 which is safer and lasts a lot longer (my CoralBox Lead one didn't work after a few years) and is smaller. My reefing handicap is not being able to DIY anything :D
