    I bought this exact saw from Jono and Johno. It had a small issue with the drive sprocket so I called them and asked what I should do? They told me to bring it in anytime and they'll replace the defective part or they where also happy to send it to me free of charge if I wanted.
    I went in store and they fixed it up within 10 minutes and fitted a new chain free of charge. When they showed me what they had done the mechanic handed me an extra 2 chains for my troubles. You don't get service like that much any more. The saw hasn't skiped a beat since then

    The case is a definite plus, John. Over the years I've worn through a lot of wrap around handles (& even fuel tanks) by having them slide around on the steel checkerplate floor of the old Tojo. Last replacement for the 660 Stihl I got from China for a hell of a lot less than genuine from the local dealer.

    G'day John I'm looking to get a new Chainsaw without blowing the budget,i'm interested in a 62 cc with 20 inch bar that will suit me fine and I was just wondering in your honest opinion should I go for a BAUMR - AG or the Pearla Barb any advice is very much appreciated .cheers , Simon . by the way Awesome concise videos keep up the great work .

      @farminglifeaustralia6716  Рік тому +1

      I would buy the Perla Barb. I have the 62 cc and the 70 CC both saws have been reliable. The Baumer Ag lasted for a fair while the only real problem was the chain tension mechanism is week and you have to be very careful with it. The main problem with the Baumer Ag is the company that sells most of them. The best saw of the lot is the 70 cc Perla Barb it is a copy of a Husqvarna having said that if you particularly wanted the 62cc size I would pick the PB over the Baumer Ag. The other thing I forgot is the Bar and chain on the BA is rubbish. My chain was soft on one side and my neighbour bought one and it was the same. The PB has a Hurricane bar and chain and they are a good chain and bar I have them on all my saws now.

      @@farminglifeaustralia6716 Thanks very much for the reply and advice after watching many reviews and the ones you have I sort of made my mind up on the Pearla Barb they look very much the same just a difference in cc and price the 62 cc is going for $229 and the 70 cc is going for $369 i'm on a very tight budget at the moment both with 20 inch bar i don't think it warrants spending another roughly $130 bucks really for the amount of horses i'd be gaining thanks again for the speedy reply cheers John , thanks again Simon .

    For anyone contemplating buying a Baumr 62 in Oz (do they sell them anywhere else?) buying from Edisons, with post, seems about $10 cheaper than Ebay (supplied by none other than Edisons) with free post, which makes sense if Ebay is to make their cut; but with Edisons direct you have to endlessly fart about proving who you say you are, even after you've already paid them, before they let them go. Hope that's useful to somebody! Thanks for this, and the Jono & Johno tip FLA!!

      I have a 25cc top handle chinese arborist saw , a 38cc 16" chinese saw and a brand new MTM 62cc saw , they all leak bar oil from the start . The 25cc saw needed a new fuel line almost straight away , I'm doing the 38cc now after at least 8 years . I've also got 52cc brushcutters I've had to do the fuel lines on and I always run 91 ron + 2 stroke , never e10 in anything so it's not an ethanol problem . Chinese fuel lines are not the best usually .
      John , I got my MTM from Edisons website not their ebay store , they had it on special as well as a new member discount of $25 , ended up paying $108 delivered for a 62cc saw with a 22" bar and chain , got it quick so I can't complain .
      I drain my bar oil if the saw is going to sit for long , not hard to do .

    I think most of these Chinese chainsaws are better quality build(magnesium/aluminum crankcase, handles) than the lower-end name-brand saws, you know, the cheapest, smallest models they sell..and definitely better quality than the cheap Ryobi, Homelite, etc. plastic ones that are sold at big box stores. The big question mark with these Chinese chainsaws, to me, is, can you get any replacement parts?..things like a replacement sprocket, starter spring, starter assembly, chain brake, replacement carburetor, handle bar, air filter, stuff that breaks or wears out with normal use...if not, then they are a one-shot deal...bars and chains are less of a concern, as those can often be modified to fit...

      I don't know your situation like if you have to have the chain saw in the car with fuel etc. The perla barb would definitely do the job but don't rule out a electric saw either, no petrol, we have a 14" Makita. The wife wanted it for pruning trees. I thought it would be a toy but its a hundred times better than I thought it would be. The only thing is the bar and chain that came with the Makita was crap but I replaced those with a good bar and chain and the unit is really good. Hope this helps. John
