- If you have an older style Alde wet central heating panel like us, using it can be quite a challenge. IN this video I show how to upgrade the panel to a new colour touch screen control panel. More information from Alde - www.alde.co.uk/...

Thanks Dan you explain it all beautifully, have had a few probs in the past with alde fuses shaking loose while travelling but after watching your video think I could manage the upgrade.
Great to hear David.
Take care
Dan
Fitted my upgrade panel a few months back - Well worth the money and time. Old panel was terrible!
Completely agree, a brilliant upgrade.
Thanks for popping by
Dan
Thank you Dan - just upgraded the control panel and added battery backup
great vids guys, we down to portscatho in 2 weeks with van , can't wait
excellent news - have a really great trip !
Take care
Dan
Hi Dan I was thinking of adding a “ load monitor “ to my Alde system, have you ever thought about it?
Have you thought about adding the “remote control module “ to the Alde system so that you can operate/changes settings from your phone?
Hi Scott, i have considered it - but it requires a GSM connection and to be completely fair, the heating is set for a low temperature and just left, like the thermostat at home. Its just left at 18 degrees and thats it. so requires little adjustment when out.
I will investigate further.
Dan
The Trudgians after I asked the question I looked up the price of the module, Alde are having a laugh . Nice videos btw 👍🏻
Any recommendations on where to buy the upgrade kit? Thanks
Hi Jim, try here shop.caravanclub.co.uk/product/1040712/alde-3010-control-panel-upgrade-kit
Dan - Been told to unfriend you! Just brought a CADAC - Been contemplating it for Months! When I told the boss you had one, so we had to have one as well - I really thought that would be the deal clincher! Seemingly not lol :)
amazing. Just don't cite me in the divorce papers... lol. Good work fella, which one did you get ?
Carri Chef 2 - With two pans. The half and half pan and the standard grill pan. Ive ordered a bullfinch connector and some gas hose as well. 2 meters will be enough. I don't think we will need the paella pan - but might look at one for a stir fry in the future.
Great video, the wife and I have just traded in our 2004 Bailey Pageant, which had a panel heater and blown air heating for a new Elddis Affinity with the new Alde wet central heating, get the van next month and can't wait. I know all the instructions come with the van and the despatch department will briefly go over the operation however it would be great if you could post a video on the operation as we're new to this type of heating and it would be good to know how to get the best out of it rather than flicking through the number of instruction pages that come with it.
Morning Kevin, Well done on the upgrade, the next month will take 3 months to go by I'm sure.
Sure, we can create a video on how to operate the Alde system,
Take care
Dan
Nice and informative video Dan - Thanks!
Thank you!

Thanks for this video - I've purchased from C&MC and now ready to fit. Is there any reason that you cut 5mm off the top of the hole and 5mm off the bottom instead of just taking 10mm off one or the other?
Hi Dan. Answering my own question having just been and fitted my panel upgrade: there was inadequate space between the hole and the control panel in our Unicorn so I had no option but to take all the wood from the bottom!
Great video Dan thanks.
No problems,
Glad to be of service !

Dan - Just fitted the Battery back up and the External Temperature sensor. Battery back up saves setting the clock and was well worth fitting - But I'm not seeing the real purpose of the external temp? Apart from yet another 'Man gadget' I'm not really seeing the point - Anything else it does in support of the ALDE? Might have to confess to Mrs C that it was just an impulsive purchase ;)
Hi Richie, way ahead of you on the battery back up, i made one and fitted it on the same day (video out this friday) and also fitted the external temp and current limiter too - the external temp sensor can switch on the heating if the outside temp meets the desired threshold, and also acts as a useful conversation piece when there is nothing to say to the boss...
Such lines as "You wouldnt believe its only 5 degrees outside", or "Wow - guess how warm it is outside... "are always a great move ;-)
Take care
Dan
Lol - You are adding to my repertoire of excuses for Caravan related purchases (CRPs).
What menu does that heating threshold hide in? Like the idea of the heating coming on if it falls below 25 degrees outside ;)
You made your own battery back up? I paid the £16 - I know my soldering skills are nearly as poor as my soldiering ones!!!
The load meter - I know it cuts down the heating if the load is nearing its max - but does it also give you a readout of the current load - Was it hard to split your EHU cable down?
CRP's - I'm using that in the future - thats awesome.
Um, battery back up made it for about £3 - and no soldering required, however, I'm making up a batch of them hand offering them for substantially less than £16 !!
I will dig around the menu's and let you know, I've seen it in the options somewhere. The load meter is clever but you you have to tell it what rating EHU you are connected to, thats how it knows to limit the current etc, so you state its either 16A, 10A or 6A etc etc.
Splitting the EHU cable was again really easy, i simply disconnected the cable from the EHU plug and removed the outer sheath to reveal the 3 cores, and slipped the meter over. Then I attached it to the back of the battery box, out the way. The hardest part was routing the signal wires from the EHU box, back up to the controller. - but you will see this in future vids ;-)
Hope that helps.

Nice job. It's great to see a supplier that has designed a backwards compatible unit. Is the blanking plate plastic or metal?
Morning, the backing plate is a powder coated metal plate. nice and strong !
Thanks.
Dan
I'm trying to find out if there is an upgrade from the early 3010 to the latest 3020 HE iNet ready but with little success even with google, does anyone know if there is such an upgrade available?
What’s the cost of the upgrade panel please.
Stupidly expensive:(
Hi Dan, This upgrade seems a vast improvement. I am having to use a torch to read my current panel so am interested in this upgrade. Can I ask where you got it and how much? I have seen varying prices ranging from £75-£195. One seems reasonable the other extortionate.
Mine would be like yours as we have a Lunar Clubman although the SB variant, so I am confident in fitting it thanks to this video. Cheers John.
Hi John, i googled around and they do range vastly in price. It may be worth contacting your local dealer to see if they have them in stock.
Thanks
Dan
Does the upgraded screen fit the 3000?
i dont know about the 3000 specifically, there were only 2 form factors im aware of, if its the square style - then yes it would replace and fit it.
Anyone any clue whether this can replace a very old Alde control panel that I have on my N&B Clou Trend of 1996?
Hi there, sadly this wont replace the very old panels.
Is it Bluetooth
get a multi tool, best tool ever
Like what we have, so funny
Thanks, great vid. only one thing......the kit costs over £200!!! Ill have to keep using my reading glasses, but thanks again.
They should have put a little drawing of a caravan, not house on the home screen :)
Thats a great idea !!
Take care
Dan
great if you get the panel for free otherwise an Extortionate amount of money from Alde who should wear a mask and a stripey jumper the prices they charge - sort of negates the will to do it unfortunately
Your not wrong what apiece of shit my panel is.
The kit is 3010-615 not the 613 you ruined my holiday and wasted my time.
How..?
