We don't tend to suffer from altitude sickness anywhere near as bad as when mountain climbing as we aren't exerting ourselves. Bottled oxygen is used when planning to fly above 7000m, although some pilots don't require oxygen even then.
I've also been quite happy flying up to 6600m. We're often sleeping high too, at times well above 4000m after a steady build up. It's also helps that you can loose 1000m in a minute if you really need to.

This was the end of March this year.
pretty dangerous...at that altitude some people get unconscious. I got a bit sick and dizzy at 4000 meters near an astronomical observatory.
