Street Fighter: Beginnings End - Thousand Pounds

- My team and I just finished our first game to live action short, based off of the popular Capcom franchise: Street Fighter. Its always pained us not to see the movies focus on the two most iconic characters from the series so we thought wed pay tribute to the epic fighters that Capcom have created and make a small short film demonstrating some of their talents; all the while showing a take on Ken and Ryu at their dojo before Ryu enters the World Warrior Tournament for the first time (Street Fighter 1 Territory).
The short consisted of a $400 (out of pocket) budget, was shot on the Canon EOS 7D, edited in Final Cut Pro and effects work done in Adobe After Effects. We hope you enjoy what we have put together! My dream is to make feature films that focus on video games/comics/anime and adapt them into a live action format. Im hoping this is a step in the right direction.
**On a side note: We still can't believe the odds of another team releasing a Street Fighter Fan Film in the same week (let alone 24 hours!). But we can't wait to check out their film and we wish them the best of luck! We're fans first and foremost! Damn it, Hollywood! That's two, count 'em TWO, short fan films that managed to do in minutes what you could get done with two whole feature films!

@PrisonCipher - I understand your complaints Prison but you do realize that this short was based on Ryu's Street Fighter Alpha look? Before Ryu went to the 1st World Warrior Tournament he always wore a white headband when he was still training at the dojo. Ken hadn't given him the red headband yet in that part of the storyline. As a Street Fighter fan, you should know this ;)

This is the first time I see Ryu's Fire Hadoken adapted in Live Action, this is the best Coreography ever!
It's been over a year since I've seen this, and it's still just as dope as it was 365 days ago. If this can be done on a budget of 400$ , I see no reason as to why Hollywood can't give us something half as good. Great job on this.
Nice touches. Ken's rolling throw was great to see but his wig.....

this was the 1st time i watch something and the yells from the special moves felt real not all fake........kind of gave me chills lol niceeeeeeeeee
what separates thousand pounds and other action film creators including big time movie studios is that they mastered the art of camera angles, close ups, and choreography.
I keep forgetting 10 years ago was just 2010 and not the 90’s I was about to say it was incredible effects for it being in the 90’s

I think what makes this so much better than hollywood are the angle shot changes. I feel like hollywood mostly does 1 shot with the occasional angle change. This short literally does an angle shot change like every 2 second.
These guys have captured the essence of Street Fighter that the fans have always wanted...Pure Game-Like ACTION!!!

This made me applause you guys deserve an award for this. And loving how Ryu STOPPED that Metsu Shoryuken.
This 4 minutes was amazingly better than anything Hollywood has ever done regarding this franchise. Truth.
Great project! Everything about it was great. The huge work behind the audio/sounds/music is too often forgotten, and here it is what struck me most. Perfectly fitting sfx, I loved the ringing in Ryu's ear after that high kick by Ken.
I also made a sf fan movie myself but with a different focus (and less professional^^), check if you like.
Not as good as Legacy but very cool guys. I'm impressed
i hv to disagree.. legacy is good in graphics. but the moves are better in this vid!
yo yoyo Yes man, I agree with you. This production was the only one that I look can make most Action to the Anime Real Life Moves. I'm Amazed.
Big ups for my man Brendon Huor displaying his amazing Martial Arts skills. I really enjoyed watching this short fan film.

Very Awesome! I like how the two actors who played Ryu and Ken look like them as they looked in Street Fighter and Street Fighter Alpha. Great costumes too, and the fight choreography is amazing! I trained in Kenpo Karate for ten years and I only wish I move like these two guys. Great Work guys. I hope you keep making videos.
SWEET! As an SF enthusiast.. i have been following this legacy since like 1985 or so, back when the first original Street Fighter was in the arcades. I Love how you even remembered the details of how in the first one that they used the strap on gloves..this is a very tiny detail however it proves that your not just some johnny come lately who got on the SF bandwagon just cuz SF made such an impact. Kudos to you, and how you used ken's persona as the berzerker rage style, and ryu with patience.

I love it, and I like how the fight scene end, in the end, it's not the ego, it's just a training, and stop where it should be.
Nice job. In your comment about the movie... you hit it on the nose about the two main characters. I grew up on Street Fighter when it first came out. I got into big when I was in around eighth grade with the alpha series came out. That's all we did... along with Mortal Combat. Needless to say, you all did a hell of a job. A+

This short as well as the Ansatsuken series is amazing.
I love that little nod to the MvC series at the end of the fight.
That shows how Ryu is the wiser and a better fight, Ken knew he'd be screwed if that hit was landed lol. Great video that wheel roll on the floor at 3:00 is really sick.
Imagine if these guys had a full budget. I would pay to see these guys in the movies. Whose with me?

Street Fighter: Legacy = Actors pulled the look off and the costumes were refreshing the special effects were good and it had an overall trailer or movie feel.
Street Fighter: Beginnings End = Good choreography, great idea making it seem almost like a live action version of the Arcade. Overall great for a 400 dollar budget film not to mention the first live action film that the team had done.
watching this video, it feels me like i want to learn martial arts.. guys! you're so awesome!

Finally! In ten minutes I have seen two fan made clips that have far exceeded anything capcom related to come out of hollywood or Japan. Keep going guys! Sharpen things up a little, listen to the fans and I'll buy your dvd instead.

great job. one thing i did notice was that Ryu already had his head band on. Then he put it on again. Aside from that. everything else superb job.

is far from street fighter to overcome the legacy, but the effects are the hours. Good attitude demonstrates that it is capable of being made into a movie worthy of the game that inspires even the richest tournaments in the world's mma.
