  • Did you know that burnout has different states? Identifying burnout from stress can be tough according to Jenny Truong, DevRel & Head of Operations at Stately. We were lucky to catch Jenny at React Miami, where she explained all five states of burnout and shared her wisdom after dealing with the burnout beast herself. In this video, she reminds us that we're not alone in this battle and that there are some 'happy chemicals' that can help us face the 5-headed beast.

I remember going through burnout, It is a worste experience you would ever have. I was new to software development world at that time, and I had no experience working in a team of more than 3 people. I tried to fix the all the shit that was wrong with the code all of my own alone with out telling any one and at the end my backlog built up like crazy. When my manager asked about my backlog I told what I was doing and he goes nuts.
The pressure on me was so high that I can't sleep and can't work. I can't focus and I just wanted to run away but I even can't do that as I have to put bread on plate. I cried alone in the washroom of office
Few people helped me to get out of that situation. I took my learning from it and never had burnout since than.
If you see someone going through burnout, please talk to them, it is a experience you never want to experience.

I need a DOSE. Got it!
But really, thanks. The "excitement" stage was eye opening.

You could think of these 5 states as a _cycle_ you go through when learning (broadly speaking)

I have been saying yes to everything, for about 3 years and i feel burn out is coming but never comes.
I love programming and enjoy it. i stop complaining and just get it done at what ever the cost physically or mentally.
by the way i'm from 3rd world country working for 15X low salary compared to US.
    i don't understand burned out.
