Camera manufacturers never make it easy, can you imagine if the 35 still had the colors of the legacy Alexas l. I'm at a crossroads on whether to buy a 35 or go for a mini LF. I want to go 35 but the colour really puts me off. I feel like the wiser investment will be with the 35....but that may change we need to see if DPs will pick up the 35 on more productions.
@@patrick4912 yeah what is interesting is that the new alev4 sensor was specifically designed for that super35 size so the likely hood of arri to design a lf version is out of the question for it. Just makes me wonder what arri is up too? The last lf was the mini lf in 2019. It’s due time for an updated system
I’d get the 35. You can always grab the Phantom LUT by Joel Fumalaro to get more “mini” colors on the 35. Honestly the 35 is going to be tough to beat. That dynamic range is insane. Colors can always be matched. DR cannot be.
I think both cameras have there place and I do know what your saying. There is something about the alexa 35 that stands out. Of course I do still feel like the alexa 35 has a more digital look compared to mini.
@@lightinsidecinema really? I feel is the opposite, Alexa 35 feels more "filmic". All the shows I've seen on Alexa mini feel "plastic". Maybe it's just me. U never know these days 🤪
Both great cameras, Mini won't be obsolete ever IMO !
@@darkodj4131 I agree
It's very bold to say never, given the film industry exists for barely 100 years lol.
Nice work Luke! the 35 is a beast!!! 🔥
Thank you, yes I love the 35, I just don’t like the weight. Lol…if only they can put the alev4 in the alexa mini.
Price wise alexa mini is waaayyyy better deal, you can buy 3 or 4 alexa minis for the price of single alexa 35 lol
@@apmanti12 yes it is. Just wait a few years and im sure the alexa 35 will go down

@@nick_salazar exactly you took the words right from my mouth
Nothing is beating the 35's dynamic range
Agreed
Original has a film look and new 35 looks like Sony
Didn’t even think about that, but you are right it does give off the Venice look a little
I subscribed, you tooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
@@nickdual thank you 🙏
Defo not. There is a texture and feel that don't compare. Alexa 35 is much much better
