DAMN I'VE BEEN TRYING TO FIND THIS JOINT FOR YEARS!!!! Heard it in 88, SHOUTOUT TO ST AUGUSTINE'S COLLEGE in Raliegh. ATKINSON HALL DORM!!!! My apologies this is my favorite rapper of all time. Im an old head and this joint took me back when I was 17!!!! THIS DUDE FATHERED A LOT OF YOUR FAVORITE EMCEES RHYME STYLES!!!!! The song POISON proves that point!!!! NUFF RESPECT G!!!!!!!
This is not the original version from 1987. This is a remake from the 2000's. The original does not have an "I gotcha'" scratch/hook, does not have G. Rap saying "Enter The Dragon" on the hook and is uncensored.
U r right. This is the first time I heard this with cuts. The one I heard from early 1988 didn't have the cuts. That version was better without the cut but this will do
@@edwardlamar3650 Marley played in twice, on the air, in December of '87. There's a whole verse missing on this version too. It's cool. But not the O.G.
+IronWorkerWella1 This is the Original (Marley Marl Exclusive) 107.5 WBLS NYC 1987... For the RECORD: Red Alert on (98.7) n Marley Marl n Mr Magic RIP on (107.5) was BEEFN Super Heavy, back then BOOGIE DOWN PRODUCTION 'KRS ONE'(Red Alert) against the JUICE CREW (Marley Marl).... 98.7 wasn't Even PLAYN Nooo JUICE CREW RECORDS PERIOD... Cheddar from Jersey City ✌️
thats not true, Red played Juice Crew records all the time during that era (Biz, Kane, and G Rap mainly), he just didn't have access to the exclusives that Marley was cooking up on the reg.
NoteFever Tube KRS never had issues with Kane or Kool G Rap during those years! Interviews from both sides about that can be found throughout You Tube.
Ran Dee OG, I’ve seen you post on here and drop knowledge which lets me know you clearly lived during this era and was involved in the culture during the golden era. I am a young kid (23) who genuinely cares about and respects the culture, G Rap is my favorite emcee of all time and I want to know more about him pre road to the riches (I’ve done all the research that I can do but there isn’t a lot of solid info about him online, just the singles and features he did from 86-89, I need someone from the era to put me on). I’m not asking for any private tapes or anything you don’t want to share, I just want you to help me understand more about my favorite emcee and one of my heros in life period. I know this is random and out of no where but can we contact via email or something? Any knowledge you can give me would be highly appreciated fam.
lmao. because Ran Dee thinks he is correct saying this song is the remake. for the record this is the original version and in my opinion the best version. this song i heard once when i was kid and me and my friends loved it and thought it would be on the album and it did not. the version you know is the one that made on to rated xxx. that particular version i don't like ironically.
Jason masiya No. The OG version, was played twice, in Dec of '87. I still have the tape. This is a remake. The profanity is censored, and the hook is different. You never even heard the OG, so STFU.
Jason masiya Furthermore, since you feel like challenging me, if this is indeed the "original" version, as you claim, you'd know that the final verse is omitted. Since you know so much, you can give me the first 2 bars. I'll wait. There only person, other than myself, to own the OG (off the radio, on tape), is Bobbito Garcia. He actually played the demo on the Stretch Armstrong show, back in the 90's. So technically, it was played more than twice. But the OG, goes over 7 mins, it's uncensored, has no hook, and has a verse that's omitted on every other version available on UA-cam.
I think I still have that old tape recorded from WBLS when this came out. I had just got home from college from Georgia and was itching for some real hip hop. So I recorded everything I could record on those Friday and Saturday night shows. I remember it starting out with, this is a rap attack exclusive and then the beat started.

Yea. The OG didn't have that.
You, my friend, know exactly of what you speak...
It's a shame G changed up his whole program...
A shame? He put his heart into the game for how many years and got nothing back. Dude deserves to get paid like everybody else. Just be thankful.
For The Glory, I’ll Play You Out Like Atari..
Just EXCELLENTLY excellent Lee Blobi style eye guess C
This is the greatest

It BDB Boogie Down Productions vs Juice Crew n MC Shan
MANsA MUSA! Red never played this. This (the original version) was played twice, on the Rap Attack show. That's it.

IS this the only version on youtube?
FatBeatsHipHop And the BS version on Rated XXX
I have the OG on tape, but was instructed not to upload it.

Ran Dee Question, did I Declare War and the Raw demo with G Rap and Kane get radio play?
I didn't like that remake, either. Original way better. The one with the "I Gotcha" from Joe Tex
