Thanks everyone for joining me here on Christmas Eve! What products do you regret putting your makeup kit? Share down below! :) NOTE: I will still be posting a video for tomorrow!! I know not everyone will be able to join since it is Christmas tomorrow, but I appreciate anyone watching regardless of the time :)
Hey Julie, try lip gloss sample tubes instead of the small sample jars for lipsticks. You can dip them into a liquid lipstick component or just in a lip palette, close them up, and drop them in your touch up kits.
I feel the EXACT same way about the Nars radiant creamy concealer! I LOVE the Nars radiant foundation but have always been underwhelmed by the concealer and find it so annoying to use in my kit. I wish I loved it like everyone else 😂
I felt like EVERYONE raved about it, and I started doubting my skills because it was so sheer!! I got like 7 of them too 😭😭 I just use them for subtle contour now 😂
I agree Anastasia dry out easily, thats why its safer to leave it in original packaging and scoop with spatula. Overall, it has lasts for such a long time & i love it!
I've tried several brands over the years to see if they break me out and some do some don't. Been using studio fix fluid for the last year in my kit and no issues for me. I don't know if I'm lucky but I do tell every single client its important to *Double Cleans* when removing foundation or any brand can cause a breakout.. I totally agree with the liquid lipstick. lol Lots of great tips in this video! 💜💜💜
Makeup is so personal for people and sometimes it's not even specific ingredients that we are sensitive to. It's super strange! I'm glad MAC Studio Fix works for you. It works on my skin personally, but it caused quite a bit of issues for me using it on other people. Cleansing is definitely super important in preventing reactions :)
Everyone raves about the inglot gel liner but after an hour or so it had smudged to under the lower lash linr on me and I have no idea why. I always use eye primer on lid and setting powder under the eye. ..so wtf lol. Last thing I want is the same to happen to a bride throughout her wedding day.
I personally love the Inglot liner, but I have heard that from multiple other people! I don't normally use it on the bottom lash line just the top because it can transfer. If you set it with black eyeshadow other top it locks it into place. I normally just use pencils on the bottom.
@@julieruby yeah I didn't use it on the lower lash line at all :-( it just smudged/transferred from the top to the lower on its own. Maybe I'll try setting it with shadow and see if that stops it moving.
i have the same experience, that eyeliner does not dry down at all and is extremely (too) creamy and transfers everywhere (ruins eyeshadow looks) and bleeds everywhere! also patchy and not very black. maybe we got a bad batch
Ohhhh my gosh, Julie! I relate so much with most of the things you've mentioned (like what you said about cream products, the nars small doe foot applicators, abh dip brows, etc.) and I've made the EXACT same purchase "mistakes". So wild and funny 😂 We've come a long way.
Haha I'm glad someone else can relate to these issues I've had with these products as well! I thought I was just being picky! At least we've learned and adapted :)
Ugh I don’t like the Nars concealer either! I’ve bought it 3 different times in my life to see if I was using it wrong or if my opinion changed, lol. Nope lol
i'm glad this was helpful for you Cristina! Just make sure to still test things out for yourself :) My opinions are not the end all be all decision. It's just hard watching reviews sometimes since everyone has different opinions so do what works bet for you :)
I agree for most things, especially the Nars concealer! Love the brand, but I don’t understand the hype around that concealer, especially now that there’s so many good ones 🤷🏼♀️
I hate creamy products too, but this is a first: brides wearing almost 24 hours a look refusing to wear a full coverage foundation. Also, that blouse is so streetwear that if your did not mention it was part of pijamas nobody would have thought it anyway. As for my kit, I regret buying expensive brands for decades and not testing the right drugstore stuff and save a lot...
Yes I agree on spending way too much on high end makeup! As long as you can do your job that’s all that matters :) The PJs are actually a set so definitely looks like PJs in person 😂
Thank you so much for this! Do you put eye cream on your client before you do their make up? If so which one would you recommend? I'm having a problem with the concealer and foundation under the eyes looking cracked.
Hi Pam! I'm glad you enjoyed the video :) I don't put an eye cream on for every app, just whenever I feel like it's needed. I personally have the Clinique All About Eyes Cream (regular NOT rich). Check out my skin prep video from my Kitmas series if you haven't already. That goes over all the prep stuff I have in my kit!
💜Enjoyed watching this video; you are correct that every makeup artist works differently, so it might work for others if it doesn't work for you and vice versa. I love beauty blenders; the only thing with them Is that since I am building my bridal kit currently, I learned that if I have to use a beauty blender, I will just end up giving it to my client after using as you are correct, they can't be 100% clean after we use them, so it's unsanitary. Yes, they are expensive and not worth it in some people's opinion but it's just one thing that I can't stop using as it blends the makeup beautifully so it's a tough decision to invest in such blenders and then give them to the client afterward. 🥲
Thank you so much! Girl there are SO many inexpensive sponges that work just the same as the beauty blenders. I can't imagine how much money you spend on those each year! I personally buy the Shop Miss A Paw Paw sponges that are like $1 a piece.

@@PrettyxPandaMUA Too funny I JUST bought these and posted that I got them on my IG! haha

I'm glad I'm not alone on this!! I don't get what the hype is! I too love the Natural Radiant foundation.
Same!!!! She made every point that I have made and I look at artists that use it like ???
I felt like EVERYONE raved about it, and I started doubting my skills because it was so sheer!! I got like 7 of them too 😭😭 I just use them for subtle contour now 😂
Wow Julie congrats for this series!Appreciate your dedication putting together such a great series
Thank you so much!! I really appreciate you watching all of the videos!

Yes I'm sure that was my mistake! I just never liked carrying around the glass jars, but tit is a good product overall!
I’m so happy someone talked about the radiant creamy concealer… I hate it
Yeah it’s pretty bad! I’m not sure how anyone gets it to work!
Your video shows how essential it is to accumulate your own experience in dealing with products.
Yes makeup is super personal to each artist and also each person as well!
I loved this video the most. I agree with everything you said! You're 💯% right on stating that try things out & see if they work for you. 👏
Thank you so much Dilven! Yes it's all trial and error :)

That CT made me look so dehydrated! I used in my kit for acne skin.
It's seriously VERY matte! I only use it on myself when I'm really oily for the summer. Super hard to work with sometimes!

Merry Christmas 🎁🎄 Julie and family 0:33
Merry Christmas to you as well Ashley! :)
I 100% agree with the nars concealer. Everyone loves it but you hit every point that I have made with them.
Thanks! I'm not sure why it's so overhyped haha!
I agreed with so much of these products you mentioned in the video! I loved the whole kitmas series. Thank you for sharing. ❤

THANK YOU for this!!!!! I need to hear this cause I’ve been going back and forth with some of the stuff u mentioned.

The only liquid lipstick that I enjoy is the hourglass
Oo I didn't even know hourglass had liquid lipsticks!
@@julieruby yes! The velvet story lip cream. Chefs kiss!!

I buy beauty blenders from AliExpress, and they work out to about $1.50 per sponge and they are exactly the same as the original beauty blender.
