Old Table Lamp Restoration. How to fit 1977 lamp into modern design?

- My mom used to have this 1977 Russian lamp on her bed desk, but later on it was put aside and forgotten. I decided to restore it in a way that it fits into modern room design.
After dismantling, I cleaned the dust simply with water.
For painted parts I used paint remover.
I cleaned little bits that did not get removed with a wire brush.
I sanded the surface and then covered it with a primer.
After sanding the primer, I painted the parts with ice white paint.
I sanded and covered plastic parts with wax.
For metal parts, they were sanded as well and then polished.

I hope that this video helped you to relax and find some inspiration. Thanks a lot for watching it!
I have just discovered your channel and immediately subscribed! A superb job of that ‘70’s lamp. You executed it with so much diligence and care. I have a lot more videos to go through now, starting at the beginning! 🤗🇦🇺
Браво, маэстро! Просто супер!!
In those days, I never had these kinds of formulas. That MAAS copper cleaning solution and MASS metal protector. You know just how terrible it was during the entire 1970s. Even during the entire 1960s, the 1980s and the 1990s were the same thing. It's the entire 20th century, including the entire 2000s, which was also the same thing. There was also no MC51 rust remover. 👌
Great video mate! I love how you quickly shown us at the start what the restored one looked like!
Thank, you mate!
Beautiful retro and nice work!
Beautiful results! I like the light blue on the shade echoing the super cute blue button. And thumbs up for Patti Smith on the nightstand.
thank you!
Beautifully done! Better than new and a perfect retro for today.
Thank you!

2:43 Beautiful soviet lead paint
A job well done. The steel bar was probably nickel-plated, and if the coating is damaged it will be prone to rust. Nickel plating is not too difficult to do.
It would be cool if you could save the old paper label and return it to the bottom.
In any case, the job was done very well.
I have already learned to nickel, I will definitely try next time.
I wanted to save the label, but it was already too corrupted :(
Love the lampshade color. Is there an English translation for it?
Thank you. There are Lithuanian and English subtitles
To have a full modern style, LED bulb should be use.
Beautiful lamp great job
Hi Frind...
Very Nice Restoration. From my Experience for over 30 Years, it's Better to use the Original Color just to keep the Original Look as much as possible for nostalgic reasons. For example, I Restored 3 Vintage Table Fans and Everybody was pleased with the Results.
Thank You ... and God Bless

Oh, what did I miss? I just didn't keep track like I was supposed to. I still just think about what I used to have. It's all about the previous table lamps I used to have. 🔦
Thanks for the awesome video! Gave me great ideas on how to restore a 1977 lamp that I have too. Different but found it for my mid century modern office set up.
Beautiful restoration, i have a lamp i want to restore and this is so helpful! May I ask, what are you doing at 5:09 ?
Awesome transformation! Well done!
Must be nice to have all the special machines to rehab your lamp- it’s all about having the right tools-
What is the name of the paint stripper you used

Отличная работа. Блестит как новый. Очень красивый старый светильник. Спасибо мастер за хорошую работу. Удачи вам.👍👍
Hey that turned out good!
Thank you!
Nice restoration, the restored lamp looks beautiful . It is always interestg to see how simple in the former USSR things were constructed and build. Are the new bulbs LED's? Did you paint the inside of the lamps reflektor (Sorry don't know the correct english word) in which color?
Thank you! Yes, the new bulbs are led's :) I painted the reflektor white, same as it was as original.
The walnut part threw me for a minute, but the shells in the homemade tumbler is brilliant. And the lamp's not bad either!! ;) Really nice work.
Thank you!
Don't know about modern, but definitely much better than looking than it was, nicely done.
Thank you!
