I heard him sing the Khambhoji raga and kriti Ela palimpa way back in 1964 or thereabouts in a Chembur Fine Arts concert. It was the first concert i heard of the Maestro and ever since i have become an ardent, devoted fan of his music all through the years. It was also for the first time i heard thodi rtp, smaravaram varam in bahudari and the ever so beautiful brihadeeswara mahadeva in kanada and pibare ramarasam in ahir bhairavi. Since then its been a memorable musical journey for me and i had the good fortune to have got to know him personally and have him visit us for lunch one day in Chembur, Bombay in 1966. Honey is flowing into my soul, in this form of kambhoji. And thats not it, it enhances the experience each time I listen, better than previous time. How can that be possible with any other experience ? We usually get bored of good experiences
Great to know that BMK sang revathi in 1956 itself.. Do we have recordings or press report of any artiste singing revathi before 1956? Just curious. Raga controversies erupted in 1978 on BMK's claim on inventing revathi along with several other ragas. Anyways, one of the best kamboji renderings I ever heard. Thanks

@@SreenivasaMurthy yes sir... during 80s, when he visited a ganapathi navaratri pandal in warangal where we too were there , all of us there requested him to sing a song and he responded with this Revagupti keertanam along with another thukda without pakka vaadyam..it was one of the sweetest moments to have heard the legend ... this song is haunting me even today...that's why I asked you sir
OMG, With full volume and headfone, this concert is completely a different world. None of this world's happiness can match this concert ❤❤❤
