Had my GT since November, waited six months for it, and it was definitely worth the wait. Everyone's comments about fun are true, the five speed manual with the turbo is a hoot to drive. It fits into tiny city spaces that other cars don't even recognize as candidates and has a very sharp turning circle. As for fuel, on a trip up to Coffs I managed 4.9litres/100km, I almost fell out of my seat laughing. Takes off well at traffic lights and is very well behaved on the freeway. Totally recommended.
I was always after a Picanto. I was at kia to pickup my mothers Carnival from its service and decided to take one for a test drive for the hell of it. Literally walked off the lot with that exact car. Had to wait about 2 weeks for them to clean it up, put all the additional I asked for, but pretty much drove the car I wanted off the lot after a test drive. I have had it for over 12 months now and its an absolute dream to drive and a fun little pocket rocket.

Hi Matt! Great review Matt! I’ve owned my GT for about 1.5 years! Such a great little car! I was contemplating of getting a Yaris however Toyota increased the prices on the Yaris considerably. I can also say that the GT is more fun/fuel efficient to drive than a manual Yaris! In my experience the lowest fuel consumption I’ve seen in my GT (on the freeway, doing 80-100kph, was 3.9L/100km, with an aftermarket performance chip 107kw at the engine). Swapping the stock tyres with grippier tyres and lowering the car will make the car much more enjoyable to drive! The autonomous braking system, wireless CarPlay/android auto and heated side mirrors are just a few extra/premium features to have on this little car! I ordered mine in early 2021 when it was $21,000 drive away. The cheapest Yaris was $28k 😬.

Having driven a base picanto automatic from Melbourne to Canberra and back, I can say it's fine. I'm 185cm tall and 105kg, so no light weight. It was reasonably comfortable, the air-conditioning did the job without overly blunting the performance. Overall good and most definitely better than you might expect from the specifications.
