This video has a little of everything. We got a cattle farmer worrying about poo on his hands, welding, singing and even a pep talk to a bull. You spoil us Cole.
After watching your blogs for around a year, the Sonne’s is my favorite blog to watch now, you boys make it fun to watch, crazy guys, petting wild bulls.
Here's my "happy father's day" to your dad. Hope y'all take at least part of the day off and he gets to do something he loves with his family. God bless you all. Great vid ... very interesting gate making! Brian ... I'm requesting 'happy trails to you'. 🤣🎶
Yep your dad singing was the best. Almost fell off my chair when you belted out Love Boat, just watched some old episodes of that this week, yes I know I need to get a more exciting life like yours.
Hey Cole , Those cows eating looked just like railway ties. All uniform size. And that great welding. A marvel. Awesome young man!! Keep up the good work. Proud of you.🍁🍁🇨🇦
Your dad always cracks me up ! If you're taking song requests, since he knew The Flintstones how about the song from The Jetsons, Brian ? Nice welding Cole ! You should give us a 30-second warning though so we can put on our sunglasses. 😉 Thanks for my Saturday morning entertainment video.
I gotta tell you. You did a good job on welding those gates. My neighbor Ned and I tried to copy your design. He went and got the materials, we got everything laid out, hooked up the welder, and we must have spent 10 hours trying to get the welds to hold. We tried different settings on the welder. We tried different welding rods. We did everything. Finally, after we had gone through about 3 cases of Genesee, my other neighbor stopped by and mentioned, " I think you boys are trying to weld on the wrong grade of oak there. You might want to try metal next time." That's what I like about my neighborhood. Everybody is an expert in something.
Nice work, I got a load of pipe yesterday to build some free standing panels. Love your channel have watched all your videos at least once. You guys have beautiful cattle. Brian and I have a similar sense of humor.
Pipe looks like what is called tubing which is the pipe that is ran in the well bore to produce the oil from the well. Is often sold for scrap when no longer needed. Makes good cattle-guards for roads too
I think these kinds of videos are exactly what some channels think bore viewers. It could not be any more untrue. Man I love it! I think that’s another 5 videos watched today. I’m sure another is about to be recommended. Farm on!
"🎵From the, town of Bedrock. . . (somethin-somethin)) . . things right out of HISTORY 🎵!" Thanks Brian. Wondering if Cole knew about those classic shows of which you sang? You two are quite the team--- Thanks for the laughs you give us!
Love the video and the content you make each day! Love you and your father both. You both are funny.. He is funnier and you are almost like his "sidekick Comedian". Hahaha! Joking! Hope yall are having a great day or night. - These videos seem to inspire me a lot to get my own piece of land to raise cattle etc.. BUT it is not as easy as I have seen you do it! and can be expensive. - Ron, from Franklin County, NY
I might make it to retirement before that needs replacing. Especially if I retire tomorrow Lol😂😂 you got my humming the Flintstones. You guys are soo funny Love it 🙋♀️💗💕
Cole you are a great fabrication welder, those are great gates you made. Reminds me of my life on the ranch and all the fabricating and welding my uncle and I did. If it couldn't be made from oil well pipe or sucker rod then it wasn't worth making lol but whatever you did make was guaranteed to last a lifetime. I can't imagine how much stuff my uncle has made with that stuff.
Cole, you should be running the stick uphill. Going downhill the slag is chasing you and more than likely you're getting slag inclusions. That is why it doesn't look very good and the slag doesn't want to come off very easy. Also, I'm not sure what rod you are running but 3/32" 7018 is the best general purpose rod, 1/8" for thicker than 1/4" steel. 3/32" is just easier to handle, 1/8" is putting down a lot of metal and is running a good bit hotter which makes it a bit more difficult running out of position (I.e. Not flat on the bench) at least for a new welder. Once you've got some time under your belt you'll know what I'm talking about. You really need to get a PO box set up! I've got a spool of dual shield flux core wire with your name on it! The stuff runs so much smoother than typical short circuit mig with a lot better penetration! Just need an address to send it to! Keep up the great content! Stay safe out there! P.S. If you ever have any welding questions don't hesitate to shoot me a message, I'd be more than willing to give you some advice! Dan @6-4_Fab Glen Rock, PA USA!!!
Of all the songs dad could sing he picks the theme from The Love Boat! Haha. Those pellets must have crack in them for cows. It was a pack of dogs on a three-legged cat when you put them down. The bull seems pretty friendly. Thanks for the video.
Don't worry Cole about followers, I was following your Dad till the singing started but than I started humming Gilligan's Island. It's a generation thing...
Hey guys! My weekend ain't complete till I have seen the Sonne show. Cole, I can arc weld but I am no expert but I was told when doing a vertical weld you should start at the bottom and work upwards...A bit counter intuitive if you ask me lol. It was good to see you disposing of those stubs too as those things are punctures waiting to happen right? I loved Brian's little singing spot, my favourite Karaoke number is Mack the knife if he wanted to have a go at it, I'd like that. (I'm an older guy and never heard of Quaker elevators either) I spotted in the background what looked like a horse shelter, all ready for when you find a Horse loving girlfriend eh. Joey martin in an earlier comment has a good point, maybe a bit of pepper and blue cheese in there somewhere too. Good job guys and I hope the eyes heal soon. Stay safe.....you know the one about Danger right! (That bull has got it going on Cole)
When your blade is warn place a spacer behind the pipe in the vice it helps on angle cuts , it centres the pipe to the cutoff wheel. Garlic also helps for intestinal parasites
I'm here for Brian. No idea what that elevator thing is. I asked my 6 week old Gosling... he doesn't know either. But he DOES like looking at the cows.
When welding stick electrodes, don't weave it, drag the electrode toward the direction you are moving ("point" the stick to the direction you just welded). I think your weave is likely causing some of your porosity and bird poop. Hope that helps.
The garlic thing does work. Use to work for a guy on Kansas that had 400 head o cattle an we use to crushed garlic an put it in there food.. so u know that fly be gone or what it is called get expensive.. the guy I use to work for was super old but he was super freaking smart an wise...... Ann I use to work for a place that made alfalfa cubes. Pretty cool process an the cows loved it
Hi nice to see that the flood is nearly all gone, Your fairly handy with the welder what colour are you going to paint the fench white might look well on it .That cow is the nearest thing to a horse i ever seen if you got a few hounds you could go hunting on the cow she likes jumps, your dad could have been a pop star only he wasn't , lol, cheer's thanks for sharing the going on's at your farm its interesting and funny,

Is that the same generator you use to power your farm when the power goes out? Looks like it’s got other good use then for a welder as well. Good video!
I would love to weld with ya. I would buy the beer. Love watching you guys when I have time. Thanks and if your ever coming to Tennessee just let me know. Hope yunz have a great year

Every amateur hobby farmer should watch your channel and appreciate the scale of what you guys do. Really fascinating to watch.

Is it just me or is Cole working on a Johnny Bravo hairdo? 🤣🤣🤣
We used to be able to get oil field pipe but it’s been 20 years since that dried up.
Haha 😂 shut your mouth ! When your dad started singing meet the Flintstones lmao 😂
That was a old man sound to get out of the skid loader lol like the new gate 😊put a wheel on the bottom so it doesn't sag nor break the welds 👍
That is a high manure area and a wheel will not work good there especially when the ground is frozen.

Good tip!
Cole try tack welding the piece to be welded. Then fill in the gaps. Makes it much easier. Well that is what I was taught.
Its like Chainsaw sports but for welding! Sign me up for the club/competition hahaha
