I honestly do not remember Nebraska ever running out of the Wishbone. They have been lined up in it 3 times on this opening drive. I have this game on tape stashed away in a box someplace. Morgan Gregory was the son of former Nebraska Star Running back Ben Gregory from the 60's. Morgan was an excellent receiver for us.
Wow, I honestly did not remember that Tyreese Knox ever played Fullback. Here you had Knox at Fullback and Ken Clark at I- Back. With Steve Taylor and Richard Bell yet that is unbelievable Backfield speed. And Brian Carpenter has as fast as any of those guys. All 5 were from the same recruiting class in 1985. Brinson and Rogers were as fast as any two players in all of College Football in 1988.
I think Brinson was in bounds. Dana still ranks in the top 10 fastest players in school history. Ugh, Steve Taylor flagging the ball, carrying it like a loaf of bread in one hand. You know in 1987 the two regular season games that Nebraska lost they turned over the ball a combined 11 times. Nebraska must have abandoned the Wishbone after Terry Rodgers got hurt? No wonder I could not find these highlights, I was thinking it was UCLA, not Arizonia State. I think Ken Clark, Steve Taylor and Rodgers all had over a 100 yards rushing in this game.
First time I remember seeing Terry Rodgers (Johnny's son). At the time it was bizarre seeing a player in #20 because it hadn't been given out since his dad wore it.
@@sorney98 Steel does not Rob to see that video cuz we know how he will use it to bash the #1 team that didn't show up. You know, like FL didn't 2 games earlier.
My dad Vic Schleich went into the Hall of Fame during half time of this game
Not a Husker fan but congrats to your dad.
Glad to see this uploaded, but whoever transferred this apparently never heard of adjusting the tracking on the VCR.

I was born 3 months after this game

Terry Rodgers was super fast before he blew out both knees. What might have been.
I was at this game.
Me too: BS Arch Science '89
Thanks for this game upload!
This was the year when Gen Z was starting to be created. 1997 all the way before 2010.
Thanks
Steel create another user and post the 96 game and let me know when you do so I can download it. I really want to see it.
And post the whole game if you can.
And post note so I can go grab it before idiot police at UA-cam grab it again.
Better idea, how about you delete your channel and actually get a hobby. Course that actually requires you to get out of the house lol 😂

Thank you SteelBuck! #GBR
Watched this with my mom. I remember her yelling colorful words at in the 1st quarter. GBR!
23 years later, still no Championship since.
The start of the decline of the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
Osborne actually won all three of his 3 titles after this game.
lol the decline no that was bout 14,15 years after this 2002,2003 .. just old school football .. guess seems boring to fans these days
You're thinking 96, this was 88.
@@jdvanny1045 nah the decline was 2004 the year that Pearlman forced out Osborne’s choice.
@@sorney98 When Solich ran out of TO's players and TO's coaches, the dropoff was obvious.
