Oh yes! One of my absolute favorite bands. "The Raven Child" is one of their absolute best, and my favorite song of theirs is "Ghost in the Moon" which is just the main man Tobias himself. "The Scarecrow" Live @ The Flying Opera is also a fantastic live performance to get a feel for his personality and his range

Tobias Sammet in action? Cocky Captain from Avantasia`s clip you watched wome time ago. This is teally old Avantasia record, there are much recent ones. And still power meral operas as this one is.
The first album is the best in my opinion, mainly due to nostalsgia, but also because it was something brand new having this collaborative effort of metal singers coming together on this epic album at the time.
New to the channel here, you really should dig more Avantasia songs. I suggest: Andre Matos - Letting go.

Avantasia? Awesome!😄 Avantasia is a German metal project (more than an actual band because members are constantly leaving and coming to play their part) and this is their first album, I think they had almost 10 singers on this album. Try out Avantasia: The Seven Angels (lyrics or audio).🤘🏻😊 It has 5 or 6 singers.😋

The Seven Angels has seven singers. ;) The characters of Gabriel, Pope, Lugaid, Bishop, Jakob, Regrin and Elderane.
@@exscape Yeah, was about to say - it is in the name! :))) But absolute thumbs up for the recommendation! The amount of terrain that is covered stylistically and vocally on that song alone is immense. A trivia tip: watch for Tobias' "Meat Loaf" moment. :) Even that is there. In the order of characters listed, I could give the corresponding singers just to amp up the will to hear 'em together: Tobias Sammet; Oliver Hartmann; Michael Kiske; Rob Rock; David DeFeis; Kai Hansen; and the late, great Andre Matos. As a vocal connoiseur, you need to savor those voices!

This track features Rob Rock, Oliver Hartmann, Tobias Sammett and Ralf Zdiarstek. At the point you had asked if there were two singers there had actually been 3. It starts off with Ralf for the first verse, the bridge and verse 2 are Rob Rock., The chorus is Tobias and the alternate bridge before the last chorus is Oliver Hartmann. Oliver and especially Rob Rock steal the show in this song.
This is a band build on the same principle as Ayreon. One man writes everything and then uses guest musicians to play it all.

I love The Metal Opera! I bought both CD's back in the day because Sharon den Adel (Within Temptation) is a guest singer and I was intrigued by the idea of telling a story via metal music. I loved it and I still listen to the albums a lot these days. Rock/Metal Opera's like Avantasia and Ayreon are just so damn creative!
Go back to Rhapsody of Fire also, listen to something like Symphony of the Enchanted Lands I or II, if you haven't yet.
Regardless of all the Avantasia album at this time, this two are my favorites of this great assembly
Uh oh, the first "true" Metal opera there was (considering AYREON at the time was squarely in progressive rock realm ;))... yes, full-fledged fantasy story developed over 2 albums; acast of characters each gifted their specific lines and "arias"; multiple ensemble numbers with major harmonies; and the cream of the Power metal singers at the turn of the century lured to take part. And, for once, the sum was not less than the individual parts, the project did not implode under its ambition, but converted that flair for majesty and virtuosity into a legendary status.
Suffice to name the bands and projects that this first incarnation of AVANTASIA enlisted, and even a relative newby would have heard some of them, fathers of the genre... if not - here's to more happy discoveries: EDGUY; GAMMA RAY; MAGNUM; HELLOWEEN; WITHIN TEMPTATION; STRATOVARIUS; VIRGIN STEELE; ANGRA; ROB ROCK; AT VANCE; and I' m sure I am forgetting someone. Get the picture of the scope of this undertaking?.. ;]
The mastermind Tobias Sammet (owner of probably the most powerful Heavy metal pipes this side of Bruce Dickinson) later took the show on the road, with assorted guests joining him as available, or finding capable replacements. Even if later revived AVANTASIA did not have this level of flamboyance - and the stories they spin currently are much more introverted... erm, let's call them "mature"... the following remains strong! See if you can perhaps catch Tobias and the guys live sometime!
P. S.: Connecting the dots - this is the same Tobias who sings the role of "Captain" in AYREON's "The Source". Very distinctive, very well cast.
