I grew up in a Baptist church and VBS was the highlight of summer. So much fun. Then I taught in VBS and took my kids. Now they are all grown but I enjoy the excitement of children learning the gospel and will be excited when grandchildren are old enough to go. Sorry you got the pie in the face but you were a good sport. We’ve had morning and evening VBS and even though it’s loads of fun it’s exhausting. Poor Rhett - he so cute.
Didnt know what VBS was til i was an adult, not every church in America has one, especially not catholic churches, at least when i was a child. Thank you for showing and explaining to everyone.
If you visited where I live in NC you'd be amazed VBS is super popular we have lots of church and most do VBS. I see probably 10 signs for VBSs every time I go out.
Our children loved vacation Bible school and now our grandchildren love it as well! We love how exciting they are to show and tell us all they have learned and done. Im happy to hear all of the money y'all raised God! 😅God is amazing ❤
I loved my son going to VBS as a child and I’m 61 and went to VBS . Such a special time and memories of learning about the lord. Having fun with friends.
VBS- vacation Bible school! Loved it and it’s fun watching y’all go with your precious children. Alyssa , your super power is doing 5 hairstyles ! 🙌🏽💗💗💗💗💗 I’m like a broken record because I always tell you how beautiful your hair is while mothering 5.💪🏽🙏🏽
I live in the UK and Ive never heard of VBS, I found the Lord about 6 years ago and he has changed my life. I love your family, the girls are adorable and well Rhett is the most gorgeous boy ever. love you guys xx
The Catholic Church near me in Southern California has VBS. A lot of effort goes into making it fun for the children. The church also has religious education during the school year.
Poor Alysa and Madison. But y’all were great sports. So happy to see how excited the girls were about VBS. Rhett not so much. Lol! But yall are great, we love ya and God Bless ❤❤
I was not allowed to attend VBS when invited because I was Catholic growing up. Did not even know what it was. I saw the big church bus coming down the street giving out suckers. I am 68 now and praise the Lord am saved. I’ve enjoyed helping at VBS! You are wonderful parents!
Hi there, I've been a viewer of interest since the days of the show. I would like to gently point out that you do indeed have viewers who don't adhere to any particular religious affiliation, such as myself. I learned what VBS was from my best friend in 6th grade. I suspect you have a fair number of other non-Christian viewers. And we like you all too. 😊 It's always a good thing not to assume. Enjoy your summer ❤
Always loved VBS as a kid & so did my kiddos🥰 when I was a kid they had classes all the way up to high school, but it was a smaller community. I still have things my kids & I made & our vbs certificates🙂 I’m a huge fan, never miss a vlog♥️ Been watching the Bates since United Bates of America 🇺🇸 & follow all the fam on UA-cam💞 You have a beautiful family, thank you for sharing your beautiful life💖 God Bless💕
very fun video. The girls are so creative. Rhett is chubby baby now! He was a good baby trying to figure out the new adventure. John did a great job too.
She has a good supportive husband that helps out with the kids. But beauty is hard to mess up. She looks gorgeous no matter what her hair looks like. John is a lucky guy!
I’m very confused. At 4:17, Alyssa said the losers in the fundraising would get pies in the face. The guys raised $1615, the girls raised $1736 (a with a last minute $1K donation from “someone”), so the girls won! But look at their faces at 31:10, like they were bummed that they lost. Huh? And then both the guys AND the girls got pied! Was that the plan the whole time? Everyone gets pied just to entertain the kids, no matter how much was actually raised? (As you might guess, I never helped out at my church’s VBS.)
Can't wait to see the new vlog and hope you guys have a great Friday afternoon and evening with the kids and a wonderful weekend ahead and hope everyone had fun at church and all of the kids were excited and happy to do VBS.
I would ACTUALLY LOVE to get pie in my face!!! All of that yummy whipped cream; Mmmmmmm!!! I’d be like, “Give it to me. Give me all of the pies.….….🥧” Not to eat you know, all of them, but just to PLAY WITH THEM!!! Then I would get home and jump in the pool~ which of course~ would be so cool and refreshing!!! Summertime is the time to forget about your stress, just relax🧘the schedule~ AND let it all hang out!!! Our church had VBS 2 weeks ago. I really enjoyed being a part of the craft team. It was an exhausting week but so much fun! Our pastor got the pie in his face this year.
@@Mammaj1963 We used to belong to a church until a Christmas Eve service! The minister stood at the pulpit and said you all have money for Christmas, vacations, college funds and retirement! It's time to have a church fund! We were very low on money and found it very insulting since he was taking elaborate vacations and sending his children to expensive private schools! He even sent people to our house to have us sign a pledge! My wife said you're asking for my little paycheck which I use for food and bills? We did not sign and never went back! He never called because he only wanted our money! You can find some of the meanest two-faced, nasty people at churches! My wife said the women would sit and make fun and gossip about different people! She even told them they were rude people! They laughed! My wife gave him a name and telephone number of a newly divorced mother that had just moved to our area! She was at the church and told my wife she wanted to get established in the church and neighborhood! He said "oh another needy woman"! We know how to treat people and just because one goes to church it does not make them a nice person!

OMG Alyssa you are a good sport, no way on Earth with I want to get pied like that. You are right in the fact that not everyone who watches your channel is from the USA. I am not, I am not a practising Christian and I don’t go to church although as I know your family is it was easy enough to work out what VBS meant. It’s good to get John to explain it, because not everyone has English as their first language.
Maybe til Rhett is older one of you shouldnt volunteer and stay home with him so he can go to bed. Cant say hes getting much out of it at his age other than being really tired and cranky. Just a thought for next time❤❤❤

@LeslieMcGuire-nq7yn During the year in some of their videos, they show them going to Awanas. At the first of the video Alyssa called it Awana. After she said that she corrected herself and said no, it's not Awana, it's actually VBS.
Alyssa is saying AWANA, which is a program at evangelical churches. It teaches children about Jesus and salvation, and more. If you want to know more, you can find it on Google.
