Mr. Benny's writers were really on the beam with this episode. This type of comedy was in vogue during the fifties. Nice to hear the audience giving Sister McQueen her props.
On a tour in the southern states, Jack and Rochester were driving together - the motel would NOT allow blacks to stay there so Rochester was not admitted. What did Jack do? Both he AND Rochester slept in the car!!!!!! Thats the kind of Man Benny was.
@@tomgrosemusic Well said and well put. Jack in real life was a very kind sweet generous person. When he treats Rochester grouchily on the program, he's just playing a character.
Hard to believe this is 78 years old. Still great

73 years ago and still great !
You speak the truth, Kemo Sabe !!
How far ahead of the curve this show was. Brilliance for the 24 years it was on the air.
Classic. Thanks for sharing.
I certainly have a notion to second THAT emotion !!
What a wonderfully enjoyable episode ! So funny ! THANKS (as always) for uploading !!
He set the standard
Indubitably !
Loved his "inner voices" in this show.
Some of my best friends 🙂

0:35 "I bet you'd jump out of bed with a grin." You'd lose that bet, Don.
awesome
I agree 100 per cent !!
Does anyone know if video exists of any of these JB radio shows? Would be fascinating...
There's one on UA-cam of a 1942 radio show from a post in California.
He treats Rochester like crap. Never never does he say pleasse. Never. Nor does he say thank you.
He barks. He id a bully. M
And Rochester always plays him!
In real life, Benny made Eddie Anderson a star!
Eddie Anderson got rich playing Rochester. Jack Benny paid him huge money.
