Just a funny aside- My 10 yo is super smart and watches the craziest stuff online- think smart things like world politics and history-no joke. One day he found out about Waardenberg Syndrome. I'm a nurse who used to work for a geneticist so I knew about it and spoke to him a little. A few days later your thumbnail pops up on my sidebar. I watch Benton and Alex- two trans FtoM so I'm sure that's why you popped up. Anyway I watched, subscribed and about 2 weeks later my 16 yo daughter tells me she found this cool makeup artists named Stef. What a weird set of coincidences!

As a woman with rampant body hair growth, I'm low on the estrogen side and produce more testosterone than progesterone AND I can't take estrogen because I have a history of blood clots. Are T-blockers something that I could talk to a doctor about if it's a low dose to help control this? I can literally grow a beard. I have to shave my face every day and deal with in grown and razor bumps on my chin and neck because of it. I don't feel comfortable with people getting close to my face unless I have makeup on. This causes me such severe anxiety and tears. I just want a different option than laser hair removal since it's so expensive and often times isn't even done on the face.
Yes! Spironolactone is a common treatment for women suffering PCOS, or other hormone imbalances that cause hirsutism because it blocks the androgens that cause the hair to grow. It may even help reduce acne. With that being said, you may want to consider visiting an Endocrinologist as it's possible that you might have PCOS.
+TheSwauzz for some people changing their diet can help to shift hormones in the way they want! Pls also go see an endo like others have said and they could probably give you more options - another thing is that sometimes you can find estheticians doing laser hair removal for discounts. I got my upper lip done like 50% off. Good luck! x
+TheSwauzz I have the same hair growth problem and the thing that helped me is Diane-35 birth control! I used to shave my face every day and now I'm down to every 4-5 days and continuing to get better a year and a half later. Laser won't work because it's a hormonal problem.. that's what I've gathered from my research anyway.

I am learning so much from this. I'm fifteen years old and never in school have I been taught anything to do with transgender people and transitioning, which is stupid because that is real life shit people need to know - unlike algebra and 19th century novels😂 thanks for uploading this, I think these updates will really benefit and educate the younger generation like myself, so maybe this generation won't be as judgemental as previous have been ❤️

I can definitely hear the difference in your voice! Like if I passed you on the street and heard your voice I would see you as just a woman, not trans. Many women have lower voices, including myself. I speak mostly from my chest area like a man, and even singing low I can sound like a man if I put myself in that mind set. I'm a contralto which is the lowest voice type for a woman in singing so I naturally also have a deeper voice than most of the girls I know. So always remember that even some women have lower voices! Also I think it helps immensely that you already have very feminine features like on your face. You just look like you were born a female instead of a man because of them. Many trans men going to female get surgery on their faces in order to soften their male features to make them more feminine. So I'm glad that you wouldn't have to go through all of that because I imagine that it takes a toll physically and financially! (btw I feel ya about the thick course body hair issue lol most of my features are Polish and Polish people are known for having thick dark body hair. That's the biggest reason I've given up shaving my legs, underarms, and most of my public are cause the razor burn and ingrown hairs are painful and such a pain in the ass lol 😁 I also used to shave my arms cause my arm hair is like an inch and a half long lmao the other reason is because women have natural body hair like men so why should we shave it off? Females didn't start shaving until the early 20th century so I think it's absurd that nowadays body hair on a woman is considered "gross" thank God I have a bf who gives no shit about that!) Ps. Sorry this comment is as long as a fucking novel 😂 I just really love and admire you and even though I'm not trans I still really connect with you, so I feel like I can talk to you idk lol

I stumled onto this site. your voice sounds very feminine to me. I am your average male. I would not take you for male. If I may ask, out of curiosity, why dont you have shave lines and shadow? excuse my ignorance please.
No not at all. I guess some people might, but if a person asks a question in a respectful way I don't see much harm. Just don't ask trans people about private parts. That's pretty much an off limits topic unless they say otherwise. I'm transgender myself, and I love what Stef and other trans advocates are doing by showing they are regular people like everyone else and that we are human beings too. I love that they are also educating people on what it's like to be transgender because the experience varies so widely, and it helps to show people that there is no stereotypical transgender person. That's why I like when people ask questions is because it shows they have an interest in learning, and so they can be armed with knowledge when confronted with transphobic people.

i have heard the best thing to do is take t blockers specifically spironolactoin to lessen the effects
My doctor said that bagles are actually the issue when it comes down to hormone imbalance because they're full of carbs. :o

No not at all. I guess some people might, but if a person asks a question in a respectful way I don't see much harm. Just don't ask trans people about private parts. That's pretty much an off limits topic unless they say otherwise. I'm transgender myself, and I love what Stef and other trans advocates are doing by showing they are regular people like everyone else and that we are human beings too. I love that they are also educating people on what it's like to be transgender because the experience varies so widely, and it helps to show people that there is no stereotypical transgender person. That's why I like when people ask questions is because it shows they have an interest in learning, and so they can be armed with knowledge when confronted with transphobic people.
