What rod, reel and line did you use to catch these awesome fish!! The first one you acted like nothing happened lol, that thing was an absolutely massive bull trout. I know they get bigger bat man that thing was big.

Why are you targeting a species that is on the ESA threatened list?
In some places populations are doing well, and thus acceptable to fish. As long as safe handling and barbless hooks are used, fish will be A-OK.
There are more than a few places with very healthy populations, and even some places where it’s legal to keep them.
