exactly. unless you're barrel stuffing them, the pellets will shoot *around* them. also means there's a shorter window to kill someone when bhopping through them, resulting in less deaths where your opponent is looking away from you.

The reason shotgun isn't that good in comp is cause hotboxes are smaller in comp so less of the bullets hit the player.
