My father grew up in Santa Cruz. He and his brothers used a flat piece of plywood that they found on the beach. Years later we made our own. Now you have these awesome guys. It's amazing how things progress.

Wouldn't surprise me if some of those surfers , body surfers , body boarders that broke their necks watch these videos ,because you never really loose that feeling for catching a wave . I'm too old to surf anymore , but God I love watching these videos of the Wedge ! Keep surfing guys and gals !
Yeah, sometimes those waves literally pull all of the water out from under you and there is nothing but sand....I really am surprised there aren't a LOT more spinal injuries at the Wedge.
