Great info, Allen. I'm up in Canada and I use snow to protect my pomegranates that are planted in the ground. They are going through their second winter now unprotected.

Look up what peach orchards do for their fruit tree is the Wall of water technique, look it up if you want to know an easier way to protect large trees! It’s no special solution or other stuff it’s just plain water, yelp, water! When you read up on it then it will make sense. You can set up sprayers or misters and turn it on right before the temperature starts to drop into freezing temperatures. Look it up and read about it to see if it makes sense to you. I thought it was crazy too! But it works

Protecting plants from cold seems to be a more relevant topic, with the extreme weather events we've been having in recent years. I think my kousa dogwood sapling was killed by the flash freeze the East Coast experienced during Christmas 2022, even though I covered it with a frost blanket. Recently, I heard that 49 out of the 50 US states were under some type of winter weather watch, except for Arizona! Lucky you! 🤣

There’s two methods I’m interested in that I may have missed in the video. Has anyone tried the C9 light bulbs wrapped around the tree then frost cloth over? There’s also these pvc pipe warmers that I wonder could be used for inside the frost cloth but haven’t found many videos on it. Thanks for the great tips!

Hi mate I'm here in the sunny UK (I wish! 😂) alot of the UA-camr's over here use overhead shelters for palm tree protection, ie 4 wooden stakes driven into the ground surrounding the plant with a polycarbonate sheet or similar screwed over the top. Trying this method for a couple of date palms & a washingtonia! See how it goes as don't normally get bellow -7°c here in the UK & that's extreme for us! Any thoughts on whether this works? Great video btw 👍

How did your Moringa trees do? I covered everything with bed sheets and most did okay. I plan to buy a bunch of frost cloth soon.

Hello, I'm in Texas 9b. I have potted apple trees, peach trees, and plum trees all lined up against my fence. Do you think their ok? Or should I group them together next to the house for more protection? They all are about 2&3 years old.

Hey Alan, have you ever freeze dried mango or dehydrated mango? The frozen mango chunks from Wal Mart are no good you I assume that freeze drying them is probably no good either. I just wondered how the mango turned out using those methods and what they were like flavor wise, did the powder still have that good mango flavor? Thanks man.

I am worried about my Jamaican cherry, I put a structure around her and heat but the wind ripped the plastic to pieces. Do I wait until spring to cut back the parts I think are damaged?
