I have commented before but I have gone through this one again. I got a new acoustic guitar and it sounds much better for this song than my electric. It's hard to get the electric to make a nice acoustic tone.

Although I can't sing, I loved learning this song.
It took a few times to get the odd timing changes in the song right but thanks to the cool strumming pattern you explained, once the rhythm got going it worked out great.
