  • NM Dan Heisman shows the highly theoretical chess game Browne-Heisman Jan 1972, which presaged the same theoretical line in the Bg5 Najdorf Sicilian that was played later in the year in the well-known game Browne-Mecking 1972.

What should I play against the Nc3 on second move as I am a sveshnikov Sicilian player and if my opponent does not play closed Sicilian but move orders to some variation of open Sicilian pls guide me

Depends on what variations you are willing to play if they transpose to an Open Sicilian. Or some GMs playing Black avoid Open Sicilian in that case by playing an early ...e7-e5 (2...Nc6 3.Nf3 e5). Of course, you can still get a Sveshnikov if they allow 2...Nc6 3.Nf3 and then either 3...Nf6 4.d4!? cxd4 5.Nxd4 e5 or 3...e6 4.d4 cxd4 5.Nxd4 Nf6 6.Nb5 d6 7.Bf4 e5 8.Bg5 but they may not allow that. It doesn't hurt to learn other lines in the Open Sicilian in case you need to transpose to them, but one thing at a time.

Sveshnikov Sicilian and najdorf which one you prefer and why because I have started studying sveshnikov Sicilian

They are both top GM defenses with a ton of book study required. Najdorf is more "flexible" since there are so many variations with different play. The play for Sveshnikov is usually more well-defined but still complex.

@@danheismanchess why don't GMs prefer caro kann for their most important matches and why c5 is the most played

These days engines tell GMs to play 1...e5 vs 1.e4 so that's now the most popular. But if they need a win for Black they want some fight and asymmetry so the formerly most popular 1...c5 is the choice. The Caro is a solid opening but not so good if a top GM is trying to win with Black vs another top GM.
