As a 16 year old in 1972 I spent my pocket money on the double album Something Anything. I've been lucky to see Todd twice in the UK. This song and the quality delivery of it is exceptional.
In a Broadway show, this performance would be the showstopper. A tour de force where human emotion and the power of music, truth and beauty all become one. Every time I hear it I picture not a lover, but the lonely, the unwanted, the homeless, the aging, the refugees of the world. Bravo Todd, you are a sublime human being.
I will admit, this is truly the best live performance of this absolutely beautiful and stellar song of the Viking God. Amazing, I wish I was there. Thanks for posting this. The strings and Todd's voice make me cry. But in a good way...
This song, this performance by Todd absolutely goes beyond anythingI have ever heard, and when I hear it, I go somewhre else, who else can do that, besides Todd Tundgren...........I'm so afraid of..............Pretending to care about me.......just wishing I'd fade away.......My oh my....my heart.........You cant bring yourself to......."
I listened to the whole Radio Broadcast and Loved it !! Thank U for Putting the Soundtrack into the Video !! Marvelous !! Greatly appreciated by all of us Utopians around the World that could not be there !! Todd is still Godd, and even when he can no longer sing a note.. His legacy will live on.. Many years from now , like BACH the world will rediscover Todd Rundgren !! Rock Love, Cherry XO XO
Hard to say how strong this song is....always a moving experience when he sings this masterpiece...looking forward to seeing him perform this in Akron OH Sept. 1, 2013...thanks for posting one of his very best songs.
I just cant help myself, cant help myself. I have no way to know, will never know. The cream always rises to the top. Sr. Rundgren, Hall of Fame should be calling soon.
I love this song - but I've only ever known the truly heart-breaking version by Jennifer Warnes on her album "The Hunter" from 1992. Thanks for posting and greetings from Australia
If this video were all the internet had to offer, it would be worth it.
