Teachers are able to make some test harder and the answers are not easy to find on line. But it cost more time to prepare the test material. It is not difficult to prevent students cheating, but it is pretty difficult to make teachers work hard. Some teachers used the same teaching plan over and over. Some teacher just use online resource to teach students, even no lecture. Khan academy is better sometimes.

I worried about my little students ( i work with autistic toddlers) there was no way of teaching virtual. Congrats on your senior and his success. Virtual is Not for everyone.
Wow this comment section is way worse than I was expecting.. this year has been so stressful for students, I know kids whose family members have died from covid, honestly I can’t blame them for just trying to get by. You hear everywhere that students can’t learn or understand content since this pandemic started, their entire lives have been flipped upside down- they can’t see their friends or make any connection with their teachers. Pretty much just took out anything that made school tolerable. At this point, their just trying to get by so their parents don’t be on them for it. Here’s the solution for cheating, teachers just stop using questions that they buy online. A lot of the time homework teachers give out are out dated and so it’s easy to find the answers online, instead make your own work. This won’t stop cheating entirely but maybe lesson it.
I’m done with school and I started to fell extremely guilty, but after reading your comment has reassured me that this was a bit of a part of my “just get done” mind set, I lucky had no family members die from COVID, but I was scared for my grandparents and the older people in my family. Many professions don't go off of grades anyway. I'm an environmental engineer and if my team and I didn't fail in the water lab, we wouldn't find better ways to make water cleaner. Failure is encouraged because it means we are learning.
Research isn’t cheating. I learned more doing my own research for answers on the internet in High School than I did listening to the teacher because I researched reliable sources myself.
Maaaaan, F the school system. All it does is taylor its education by dropping PE, Arts & anything that deals with talent from the curriculum and make all these young kids analytical then send them to the Army like Robots fighting a War. THen rake in all that guap from the state like they are angels. THey no better than the kids when it comes to the coin.
Exactly plus you have lazy teachers who just wanna go over a curriculum for less than a hour then the next day you have a test. They don’t even teach at times so they can’t get mad if a student google a answer online.

Remote learning should NEVER be known as cheating. Yes, the pandemic is over but it should NOT be an excuse for teachers to punish their students for what we ALLA went through as a worldwide problem. In fact, those teachers should be replaced by those who realize that their students may be unable to attend schools, colleges, and universities.

Literally I took an accounting class and it's in person. The only way to take cheating away is if you have all students in the classroom instead of taking the test at home. The education in both high school and some college courses has cheating going on.
In my school we have to sign an agreement with the college about zero tolerance for cheating and or plagerising if caught doing this you get thrown out of the college, losing all credits you may have accumulated, all , yes my online college will ban you and take away all your previous course credits all is lost , they have algorithms to watch you during your testing times , if caught cheating you are outed ,booted out lose all degrees, credits etc all lost the computer algorithms keep track of all the videos you watch or not required to pass your test, so if you don’t listen to your professor video, and open up and read your reading material, the algorithm is tracking all of this , and one thing I have to say is if you don’t read and listen to your course subject material you are done dead in the water with out an oar, ok cause you will not be able to answer the test questions at all, story over game over, and you lose all college degree credits everything, so it’s not worth the cheating ok to spend years of study than get caught cheating and lose everything there it’s not worth it , the money and the time is substantial many in countable hours of studying going down the drain

I see this all the time in my business of big government building professional inspector, installers don’t know the what for, or the why ,or the how none of it . So right there they fail the inspection etc

Those with higher incomes can have tutors for their children during remote learning wheareas those with lower incomes have crappy internet, live crowded in small apartments, and don't have parents that have the educational means or free time to assist their children in their learning process.
Why should the "cheating" students have the advantage of getting a passing grade on any assignment while the students not "cheating" have to suffer getting relatively lower scores? You gotta do what you gotta do; whatever it takes to get a better grade or gtfo

It is ok to google for curiousity or solving problems. But in exam cheating has gone a bit too far.

All you have to do is use your phone and look up answer while working on asinment thats the only way i made it through 9-12 grade
