As a male, I will say there is something special/ charming about a lady on a bicycle. I live in Australia and we have the lowest percentage of female cyclists in the world with only 21% of cyclists being female. Since half the population are women, this is a problem.
@screamolives Obviously, you've never been to The Netherlands. It is entirely possible to ride a bike without getting oil on your clothes, and many girls here use bicycles to go shopping or go to a restaurant or whatever. Riding a bicycle at 15 km/h won't get you sweaty and won't mess up your hair any more than a normal walk would.
@screamolives kind of answered the question here, as @covidiu implies. Girls stop cycling 'cos their view of life is so restricted to their own little cultural world. The trouble is, politicians and policy-makers are often just as narrow-minded. And the point is not to accept and adapt to a crap policy but to change it.
@BeautyandtheBike takes me half the time to get to college on my bike than it dose in a car or bus, and thats cruising speed!
